The first thing that comes into his blurry vision is the panicked voice of Da Vinci

"What do you mean his vitals flatlined?!"

"T-that. It's shown here on the graphs, ma'am"

Panic clattering could be heard as one of the doctors was pushed aside

"No pulse detected. Could be clinical death. Focus on keeping them active, I'll bring in my equipment!"

More clattering and frantic smashing, drowned next by the cacophony of noises made by the doctors

It was one of the few times he have seen Da Vinci behaving unlike herself. Instead of the mature and often teasing genius, what rang in the Master's head is the desperation in her voice. it struck a chord in him

His visions blurred through the sudden fatigue plaguing his mind

They seems not to be unaware that he has awaken. In that case, maybe he should just take another wisp of sleep

Ritsuka closed his eyes and ignore the chaos surrounding him, unaware of the screaming Servants on the side trying to shake their Master awake

It has been two weeks since Ritsuka Fujimaru officially entered this...deep slumber - Or at least that is what the medical team has taken to call his ailment for lack of a better word

Da Vinci knew it is nothing but a slumber

Her bagged eyes gazed tiredly at the emergency room.

Most of the staff had gone out, deterred by the bloody killing intent emanateing from the Servants inside this room. Some were pacing about, others are busy glaring into the air while a few were trying hard not to unleash the dark impulses coursing through their mind

Nobody wants to be on the receiving end of a supernatural entity's anger, especialy if said entities are spirits of famed heroes from the past known for their valor just as much as their murderous deeds

Nobody...aside from Ritsuka here beside her

Absentmindedly stroking the young boy's hair, the beautiful woman let her mind wander to the darker days

Back then, she was one of the first Servants to be successfully summoned by Chaldea. Da Vinci could still remember the gazes sent her way as she stepped out from the platform

Gazes of awe. Gazes of reverence. Gazes of joy

Life was tough when you are surrounded by people who adore you, with no one to truly rely on but a scatterbrained doctor on your side

Indeed, while it was not bad, her presence at Chaldea has always been quite a lonely one...Most only see her as Leonardo da Vinci the Reconnaissance artist, but not Leonardo the person. At times she'd wish things were different

Then came Mash, then came him, Ritsuka Fujimaru. The at first normal boy who would then slowly became a stable for Chaldea's staff and Servants alike

Their moral support. Their meditator. The only one to whom most of the Servant could confidently call friend or an associated position of endearment soon made himself a part of the madness called Chaldea

 "We need to do something"

It is Mashu who broke her out the Servant's reverie. Da Vinci and the others glanced up at the pink-colored girl, whose heartbroken expression caused them to look away
