((YES- IT HAS BEEN MONTHS BUT I AM HERE TO GIVE YOU A NEW CHAPTER- THIS MAY HAVE BEEN SHORT BUT I KNOW THAT IF I DIDN'T RELEASE SOMETHING NOW I WOULDN'T RELEASE ANYTHING ANY TIME SOON
A few weeks had passed, and all this time I was waiting in my house. I refused to step out or let anyone inside. I separated myself from reality, and I didn't want to get back into it. Everything felt fake, even I did. Knowing that I couldn't help Edward any more than I already have made me feel powerless.
I stood up from the couch that I had been hibernating at for the past few days, and made my way to the bathroom. The sink stands in front of me and a mirror hangs on top of it. I carefully wash my face and then look at myself in the mirror. My eyes look bloodshot and tired, like they've lost their reason or purpose. I simply stand there, looking at my reflection with an emotionless expression. Though a ring came from the door and I huffed, making my way towards it.
I open the door for the first time in far too many days, in front of me stands the older man who I met in the police station.
"Oh, hi sir, any news about Edward?" I asked with a hint of hope in my voice.
"Yes, dear, I have some good news about him," he smiled, "The police revisited the case, and they've seen he's not at fault, today you'll be able to see him."
My heart seemed to stop, I was in disbelief, after all this time, I could see Edward again, "When can I visit him?"
"You can visit him any time."
As he said that, I bursted through the door, running as fast as I could to the building which I knew Edward would be in. Wind hit my face as I only kept running faster and faster, as fast as I could. Tears seemed to fall from my eyes as I continuously kept thinking of the man who I missed so dearly.
After minutes of running and finally reaching the building, I saw him. Edward stood in front of the building, and I wrapped my arms around him, resting my head on his chest as sobs continuously appeared.
"You're okay, oh thank god you're okay," I repeated, holding onto him tightly.
He hugged me back, his head resting on top of mine, not saying a word.
We stayed like that. It was comfortable and safe, we were both happy, we wanted it to stay that way. Though after some time, I finally pulled away and rested a hand on his cheek, pulling his face closer to mine.
"I missed you so much, you have no clue how worried I was," I mentioned softly.
"I'm here," he grinned before leaning down to kiss me
