A/N This may be a little different from the movies, this one part but it's better than nothing. I hope you like it! Is it me or do my chapters seem to be getting shorter?

Chapter 24

Emily P.O.V

I walk through the startling quiet woods. I eventually had found a bush of berries. Blue berries, black berries. I can’t just eat all berries. I listen to the birds chirp softly as I continue.

My bullet would is wrapped with a torn piece of my shirt. I did wrap my wrist too, so it wasn’t hanging from my wrist. I look down and speak into the camera.

“Fifth day out in the wilderness. My wound is going to get infected. My wrist is in bad shape. I think I’m delusional. My name is Emily Andrews Stark. Daughter of Tony Stark. I’m in love with James Buchanan Barnes. My mom is dead, the man who killed her is dead. I’m friends with The Avengers. I was captured by a Nazi Rouge Science Division, which is known as HYDRA. I’ve been occupying time by walking and coming up with different meanings for S.H.I.E.L.D.” I say and laugh.

“Shoot, Hydra is everywhere Lock Down. Shield has initiated everything like death.” I come up with a few more, then I begin with HYDRA. “How you died right after. Holds you down, rightfully alone.” I find it funny how everyone one of those is down.

I walk along quietly, when I hear the sound of screeching tires. I’m close to a road way! I begin sprinting and stop when I see a car. It’s all black. HYDRA. I begin sprinting through the woods, trying to get as far away as I can.

The sounds of my footfalls are the only things I hear. I block out everything and everything besides, that and looking where I’m going. Once I get far away, I sprint towards the town. I jump over fences and through yards, almost tripping over kid’s toys.

I stop when I get somewhere in the middle. I walk up to a door and knock. I have no idea what day it is, but I sure hope this person is home. Somebody walks to the door and it opens. I look up at the person.

“Could you please help me?” I ask the person. It’s an older lady and she looks me over, nodding. She can barely walk, she looks to be ninety or so. She grabs my arm and helps me up with a frail hand.

“What’s your name?” She asks me as she helps my weak form in.

“Emily.” I say to her. “Do you happen to have a shower I could you and some clothes I could borrow?” I ask her and she nods.

“Follow me.” She says and she leads me to a bathroom. I nod gratefully.

“Thank you so much.” I begin to strip when I realize I dropped the camera somewhere. I shake my head at my idiocy. I step into the shower and use the shampoo and conditioner, getting loads of dirt and stuff out of my hair. My body has a few layers of dirt on it. It takes me a few minutes to scrub my whole body down and I begin with my feet.

Pickers and splinters cover it all, along with dirt. I carefully scrub them, with water spraying over my body. After a few more minutes of the delicious heat, I turn the knob off.

A knock comes to the door and the ladies voice floats through.

“I’m sorry, but the clothing choice is an old dress of mine from the nineteen forties.” She says and I call out to her.

“Yeah, that’s fine. I’m grateful for anything.” I wrap a towel around myself and open the door she hands me my dress. “Do you happen to have bandages?” I ask her and she looks at me. “For a bullet wound.” I show her the wound and she nods. I find bandages for the bear wound, since they’re not deep.

“I’ll wrap it up when you come out.” She says and I nod my head. I look at the dress. Its green and form fitting, with it swinging around my legs. It ends just a little past my knees. I try to dry my hair on the towel, but it’s already soaked. I walk out of the bathroom with the towel on my arm.

She wraps my arm up and even helps set my wrist.

“Darling, are you going to brush your hair?” She asks and I turn to her.

“I don’t have brush and I don’t think I could go through this mess, one handed.” I laugh and she smiles.

“I’ll brush your hair. It’ll be like brushing my daughters. Now go get it from the bathroom.” I walk to the bathroom and walk back with the brush. She sits down in a rocker and I hand her the brush, sitting down in front of her.

Her frail hands work on my hair, skillfully. Within a matter of minutes she has all the knots out of my hair and you could run the brush through without it getting caught. She begins to put my hair up in an old hair do to go with the dress. I smile when I see it in the mirror. I walk down the stair to her, where she has two plates of food out. Just seeing them makes my stomach growl.

She lets out a chuckle at the sound and I blush beat red, but chuckle around. We sit down at the table, say a prayer and begin eating.

“If you don’t mind, miss, but what is your name?” I ask her and she smiles at me.

“Peggy, Peggy Carter.” My mouth drops.

“The Peggy Carter. Love of Steven Rogers?” She nods her head smiling. “He’s alive.” She looks up abruptly. “I’m best friends with him.” I say and she pales.

“Steven is alive?” She asks and I nod my head smiling. “I bet he wishes he had, Bucky.” She says and my grin gets wider.

“Bucky is also alive.” I say to her smiling and she gets tears in her eyes.

“You love Steve, don’t you?” She says and I nod my head.

“As a friend, but Bucky…”I trail off and she smiles at me like an old lady would. “I love him.” I say to her and she grabs my hand.

“What happened to you before you stopped on my door step?” She asks me and I let out a deep sigh, taking a gulp of water.

“I was taken by a Nazi deep science division, known as HYDRA. I got free, killing the leader and the elite squad. I was in the woods five days before I arrived here. Survived on berries and streams.” I summarize. I don’t want to go into deep detail and she squeezes my hand.

“Hydra was taken down by The Red Skull, darling.” She says and I shake my head.

“It grew inside of S.H.I.E.L.D by a man with the name Arnim-“She finishes for me.

“Zola.” I nod my head. “I knew Colonel Phillips shouldn’t have let him in.” She says and I shake my head.

“If HYDRA didn’t grow I wouldn’t have Bucky right now.” I say to her and she smiles.

“At least something good came out of it.” I finish my food and pick up her empty plate and wash them in the sink. “Do you have a place to sleep?” She asks me and I shake my head. “You can stay here.” She says and I shake my head.

“I can’t be such a burden.”

“You’re not a-“The door bursts open and men rush in. I put Peggy behind me and they point guns at us. I see a red skull and that’s all I need. I grab Peggy and run, carrying her frail form in my weak arms. I dodge gun shots and people aren’t chasing me. I quickly turn, changing direction because I know I’m running straight towards HYDRA. I stop at a random house and break in.

A family lies dead in the middle and I know HYDRA did it, looking for me. Peggy puts a hand over her mouth. I see red flashing lights and I know its bombs. I pick her up and run out of the house. I run to a corner of the fence and the house explodes, along with others.

I put my body above her, covering her with my body. Debris falls, slamming into my back, but I don’t stand down. It’s now my job to protect Peggy Carter, greatest agent ever. Once it’s over I begin running down the street. I look around and realize that I’m in New York. I look at Stark Tower.

“Peggy, we’re going to Stark Tower.”
