After we eat I checked on Lanie and she was still sleeping so I walked back outside and take Kash another beer and sit down beside him.
"So what do we call this between us?" He laughs.
"Umm best friends?" I laugh and lean into him.
He wraps his arm around my neck and kisses my cheek. "I'm ok with that for now I guess."
"For now? Are you drunk or having a little liquid courage Kash?"
"Maybe... I may regret this in the morning but I like you Navy. I mean I know that you are grieving and you probably don't even see me that way." He said.
"Kash I think you are a wonderful guy and you are very easy on the eyes and I'm happy for our friendship and do I miss the intimate things I had going on before? Yes, I do, and do I like when you hug me? Yes, I do but if we kiss or do something else I'm afraid it will mess up what we have now." I said.
"I hear you loud and clear Navy but that doesn't mean I don't think about kissing you every day." He said.
"You think about kissing me every day?" I ask him.
"Hell yeah, I do. You are a very beautiful woman Navy and I just want to wrap my hand around your neck and pull you close and kiss your lips." He whispered.
I knew I shouldn't but at that moment it's what I wanted and I couldn't help myself when he was looking at me that way. I wasn't thinking of Gavin or anything else just his lips.
My heart was beating out of my chest... "Kiss me, Kash," I whisper.
He bites his bottom lip and smirks at me before wrapping his hand gently around my throat and pulled me in. His eyes bore into mine. "No turning back. Are you sure Navy?"
"Yes." That was all I got out before his lips were on mine. They were so soft and once I realized what was going on I moved my lips against his.
He rubbed his thumb across my throat and continued the kiss a little longer. When we broke away I could see the lust in his eyes and I wondered what I was showing him back.
I smiled and before I could say something he pulled me back in and kissed me again. I opened my mouth to him and as his tongue found mine he tasted like beer and it was the best beer I had ever tasted considering I don't even like the stuff.
As our tongues twirled together I wrapped my hand around his neck and pulled him closer. My lower half was feeling something it hadn't in a while and I liked the feeling but I was starting to feel guilty.
When we broke apart he put his arm around me and we sit in silence watching the flames in the fire pit.
"Are you ok Navy?" He asked.
"I'm good just feeling a little guilty," I said looking up at him.
"I'm sorry but it was better than I even dreamed it would be." He laughed.
"Stoppppp! God, I'm embarrassed." I laugh.
"You would be more embarrassed if you knew what you did to me." He chuckled.
"I better go check on Lanie." I laugh.
"I didn't hear her cry Navy. Don't be afraid to sit and talk with me. I would never kiss you unless you wanted me to." He said.
"I know Kash but I don't want you to think I'm some whore who jumps from dick to dick," I said.
"I would never think that Navy. I know how much you loved Gavin and would have never looked at someone else much less kiss them or jump on their dick as you said." He said.
"Glad you know that. Gavin was my first and last everything. So it's weird even being intimate with someone new. Even a kiss." I said.
"I like being your friend or best friend or whatever that you want us to be." He smiled.
"I like the sound of that Kash."
"But just know now that I have kissed you that's all I'm going to be thinking about." He laughed.
"I swear! But you do have pretty soft lips." I giggle.
"See why you gotta say stuff like that? I'm trying to be manly." He laughs.
"But we both know what a softy you are Kash," I said looking up at him smiling.
"Maybe I need more tats to look mean." He laughed.
"No, I think you have enough but I do want one. I want Lanie's name on my wrist with a little ladybug wrapped through it." I said.
"I can draw that up for you whenever you want to have it." He said.
"I'm going to check on Lanie and get her ready for bed," I said getting up.
"Let me put this out and I will help you." He said pouring water on the fire.
We walk in and he picks up Lanie while I head on upstairs and get her clothes out.
He kisses Lanie's cheek and lays her on the changing table. I take over and change her diaper and put a clean sleeper on her and sit down to feed her.
"Do you mind if I shower?" He asked.
"Sure use my bathroom there are towels already in there," I said.
"Thanks I need to grab some clean clothes first." He said.
"Put your dirty clothes in my basket and I'll wash them for you," I said as I cover up and feed Lanie.
I finish feeding Lanie and burp her and put her in the bed and when I walk into my bedroom Kash is walking out of the bathroom with a towel hanging low on his hips.
My eyes drank him in. God he was muscular and had abs for days.
"Like what you see Navy?" He grins.
"I didn't realize how fit you are under the clothes you wear." I spit out.
"How am I to dress then if it gets you to continue to look at me that way." He laughs.
