Fred's Point of View
It had been nearly a week since the incident with George and Y/N. Y/N would not talk to me and I would not talk to George. I had tried desperately to mend the small friendship that we had. I spent more time in the library in these last few days than I had in all my years at Hogwarts combines trying to find a counter spell."Ugh! I don't think I will ever find it Ginny!"
"Don't be such a downer, Fred. I'm sure you'll find something."
I sighed and got back to work. I had about 30 minutes left in my free period and I wasn't going to waste a second of it.

Wait!" Ginny yelped suddenly the next day.
"What is it?" I whispered, trying to make up for the disturbance she caused.
"Did you find the counter spell?"
"Nope! But I think I have an idea.." She got out of her seat and dragged me with her.
"She should be walking to Charms right about now.." she mumbled. I decided not to ask questions since she was helping me.
"Oi! Hermione! We need your help!" She looked up from the book she was reading, and raised her eyebrows. I shrugged, and she got up and came to us.
"Do you happen to know how to fix Y/N's hair?" She stood there for a moment, lost in thought.
"Wait! Yes! We learned about this in third year!"
"Great! Come help us find Y/N and we can get this over with quick."
She looked at her watch uncertainly, then finally said, "Alright. We better hurry."We rushed off towards the Common Room, certain she was in there.
When we walked in there, she was hunched over a sheet of parchment with a quill in her hand. She must be doing homework.
"Hey Y/N. Um, I think i've found a way to fix your hair if you'll come with me to the bathroom."
She looked up hopefully, searching to make sure this wasn't another sick joke.
"Okay. But he isn't allowed to come." She said, shooting me a dirty look.
I backed away slowly, her glare frightening me.
"You heard her. Get a move on."Some time later, while I was eating lunch, I heard the Great Hall doors open and shut. I looked, and there came Y/N, with her hair just as beautiful as it was before. She smiled at me, and it felt as though a huge weight was lifted from my chest.
I'm forgiven!
But just as suddenly as that feeling came, it went. For it was not me she was smiling at, but Lavender.
"I'm glad we got that sorted out," said a very breathless and sweaty Hermione.
"Yeah, she told us why her hair meant so much to her and we felt horrible. You should feel worse."
"Why? What is it?" I demanded.
"Well, you know how we all kinda thought she cut her hair? Well, it turns out, she has a birth defect that makes her hair grow, like, super slow. It took her her whole life for it to be that length and well, you and George took it all away."
"Yeah, Thank Merlin we got it all back." said Ginny, wiping away a few tears.
It didn't seem like a huge deal, but apparently it was to Y/N. And that's enough to keep me from never trusting George again.
"So, are you going to tell me why you are sweating?"
"Oh, that. Well, we ended up having to go outside in the blistering heat to use the spell, and it took longer than anticipated."
"Ah, got it."

Even though it had been days since she got her hair back, Y/N still wouldn't talk to me. I would wave at her in the halls, but she would flip her hair and turn the other way. I understand she's mad, and she has every right to be, but isn't this getting a little silly?
I don't know how I was ever going to get Y/N to talk to me ever again. Whenever I would walk into the Common Room, or just the same room as her in general, she would leave. I know I hated her at first, but even though we knew each other for about twos days, my heart ached for her."Ginny, Y/N hates me." I moaned on a particularly cloudy day. "She doesn't hate you, she just needs space. Give her that." "I have been!" "Okay, well, give her more and apologize." I groaned and left.
