Fred's POV

I was in love with her.

I remember the exact moment when I realized.

We were sitting in potions, and we partnered up. I completely messed up the potion, and she bust out laughing. She had the most gracious and beautiful laugh, it was addicting. Her smile could light up a whole room, and the way her nose scrunched when she laughed out a smile on my face.

Since then, I have been trying to figure out a way to ask her out. Or, if I am very, very desperate, I will ask Lavender about Y/n's opinions about me.

I was done waiting, I had given Y/n enough time to recover after what happened with her hair. It had been nearly a month, and our friendship became stronger everyday.

Plus, I had the perfect plan. And for that plan to work, I must be fully forgiven by February 14th. That day was a Saturday, and a Hogsmeade weekend. It's like fate wants us together as much as I do.

A/n- sorry for the note halfway through, but the chapter wasn't long enough to end here so I decided to put both of their POVs in one chapter. Lmk what you think about this!!

Y/n's POV

I still wasn't completely sure of my feelings about Fred Weasley, but there are two things I was absolutely sure of. First, Fred Weasley was very hot. Second, I wouldn't necessarily say no if he asked me out, so yeah, I may like him.
Lav had been bugging me about him every chance she could, which was quite often. Every time, I would give the same boring answer:
"I'm not sure, but I think I may fancy him."
She would pout at me, but I would never tell her anything more. Then it would be official.

I was excited about the upcoming Hogsmeade weekend, specifically because it fell on Valentine's day and every time that topic was brought up, Fred would shoot me a glance. It made my heart flutter.

I was almost certain that Fred had plans with me for Valentine's day. I was completely fine with that. More than fine, even. I welcome the idea.

I began to be more open about my feelings with Lavender. I would tell her every time Fred did something even remotely hot. I told her about the butterflies that came in my stomach when I saw him walking down the hall. I told her the nausea I felt whenever he was kind to me. She diagnosed me with lovesickness. I wouldn't call it love quite yet. I wasn't even sure I liked him.

Later in the evening, Lavender and I went down to the library to study. I saw Fred sitting at a table, his nose deep into a book.
Woah, Fred Weasley studying. I must be dreaming.
Just as I was about to go say hi, a little fourth year comes and makes his acquaintance. My stomach churned and I felt sick.
He was meeting up with another girl?
She tapped his shoulder, and thank Merlin he looked frightened to see her.
   "Um...Hello?" He said uncertainly.
"Hi," she said back sweetly, batting her eyelashes.
When he didn't respond, she said "Since this weekend is Valentine's day and a Hogsmeade weekend, I was wondering if you would like to go with me."
He licked his lips, hopefully thinking of a kind way to reject her.
"Erm- Well, I already have plans with a friend of mine."
   Oh my gosh.
   Was I the friend?
The fourth year let her face fall for a millisecond before holding her chin up high and strutting off to her group of friends.

I sat there, gawking at him. I saw how he rejected her, hopefully for me, and didn't even look back. I saw him mess with his hair before opening the book again.
Oh no. I had fallen in love with Fred Weasley.

I turned around and told lavender this, and she squealed behind me, showing more emotion than I was.
"Hey Y/n, let's skip out on the studying just for tonight. We have to plan." She grasped my hand and dragged me back down the corridor and up the stairs.

She looked through my closet with a disappointed look on her face. All I had were robes and muggle clothes, specifically jeans and hoodies. She was very obviously looking for dresses, which I do not associate with.
"Ooh! I have the perfect thing!" She rushed off to her trunk and pulled out everything before getting to a beautiful dress on the bottom.
It was a lovely soft pink that went halfway down my thighs. It had thin straps and a low neck. I could pull this off.
"Oh, thank you Lavender!" I said brightly, throwing my arms around her.
"Anything for you." she said in return.

It had been about two days since we saw Fred in the library, and I had heard nothing about Valentine's day. Lavender also temporarily stopped talking to me for God knows why. My life was falling apart, and I had absolutely no clue why.
