I know very well where Veronica's dream house is. It's located in Makati. She showed it once to me saying that it will be our house in the future.

When I got there, something seems off for the place was very silent. I opened the door and entered but I didn't saw anyone. I was about to call chief to report to him when suddenly I smell something. That's when I saw that the place became smoky. I felt someone's presence at my side and I immediately blocked his attack but I was so sleepy and dizzy that I didn't manage to dodge the attack of the second attacker.

“Mas maganda pala yung anak ni Boss kaysa sa babaeng ito.”

“Gago! Mukhang mas palaban naman ito.”

“Kanina pa yan tulog ah.”

“Baka nasobrahan yung pinaamoy mong pampatulog.”

Napabangon ako sa tunong na malakas na parang may sinampal. My gaze immediately went to a lady tied in a chair like me and in front of her are two ugly goons. Sh*t! That lady is Ayesha. Damn this ugly creatures! One of them was about to slap Ayesha again.

“Ang tapang din nito ah.” They were about to attack me when a voice made them stop.

“He's mine to deal with.” Beside him is his wife whose throwing death glares on Ayesha who is still sleeping. F*ck! What have they done to her?

“Veron Valentine.” I said while looking at him in the eyes.

“Tumapang ka na, naging bastos ka pa. You used to call me 'Tito'”

“You know what hurts a father most? It's losing your daughter and seeing the people who caused it living happily, like she never existed.”

“You know what old man? I can say you're a father after all, a father who loves her daughter dearly. But did you ever think that the officer you ordered to kill many years ago has a daughter? That Ayesha is a father's daughter too?”

“I don't care about someone else's father and daughter. I only care about my own family and you killed one of that. So I will kill you too, I will kill her too. This is what my daughter ever wanted.”

“Can I handle the girl, honey?” His wife asked him lovingly.

“Well, of course, honey.” The two men left when she glared at them

I saw her leaned closer to Ayesha and pulled knife in her pocket then what happened next killed me for she stabbed the knife to Ayesha and kicked the chair so Ayeshaʼs body is now on the floor but still tied on the chair.

“That's for my daughter.” She coldly said. Her husband was about to go check Ayeshaʼs body when she stopped him.

“She's dead, honey. Let's now take care of him. The police might have found out his tracking device already and might have detected something wrong. They won't give up until they find them. Let's kill him before it's too late.”

I'm sorry, I failed again. I failed to protect you. I failed to save you. I failed.

Veronʼs gun is now pointing on me. Dying is not an issue now, how can I live without her?
