Chapter 36

JAVEʼS POV

“Sir, we are able to track Veron Valentine.” An officer reported to Chief Walter, the chief of Manila Police Force Unit 1.

“Where is he?” Chief asked.

“He is hiding at Baguio City and we confirmed his whereabout through his wife.”

“Nice job. Let's catch this monster. Tell Unit 1.”

“Yes, sir.” The officer then saluted and went out.

“And you, Mr. De Valle, I want you to just stay put here. I can't risk a childʼs life for this. You have done enough. Let us handle it now.” No.

“But...Chief, please let me. I can fight well and I won't burden you.” Chief Walter looked at me in the eyes and sighed deeply.

“Okay. But just stick with me.” I want to do this. For her. Even if I'll die on the encounter, I won't regret it as long as I can assure that she will not be in danger, that she will live in peace. I have spent my days being absent in school volunteering to help the investigating team to catch Veronicaʼs dad. It has been sleepless nights but I didn't give up for if I will it also means that I'm giving up my love for Ayesha.

Last week Ayeshaʼs brother challenged me to prove in any way that I deserve Ayesha, to prove if I can beat Pyron but I'm not doing this to prove myself, I'm doing this because I love and care for her.

Tatlong sasakyan ang ginamit paakyat sa Baguio at nasa iisang sasakyan kami ni Chief Walter. Chief bring out his walkie-talkie and talked to his teammates.

“When we get there, stick to the plan. As much as possible, capture him alive. If its indispensable, I am giving you the permission to kill.”

We reached Baguio in the evening at 11 pm and we are now circling his hideout here in La Trinidad. I'm so thankful that the hideout is in a remote area so no innocent people will be dragged or disturbed.

As Chief signaled, the first batch of police officers slowly attacked the enemies guarding the place using their martial arts to avoid noise. When it's safe they signaled us to enter. Five of our men we're left outside to fight if in any case some of them will escape.

As we entered the hideout, we fought numerous men but we didn't see even Veron Valentineʼs shadow.

I was about to pick up a gun when I saw someone's shadow aiming to hit me so I dodged and rolled in the ground as I picked the gun and immediately kicked his feet and pointed him the gun.

“Where is your boss? Speak or you'll die!”

“Hahaha! Patayin mo na lang ako!” With that I immediately got near him and put the gun in his mouth. Heʼs terified, it's clearly visible in his eyes

“What a loyal dog you are.” I said.

“Well, then. Goodbye.” I was about to shoot the gun when he started talking so I removed it out from his mouth.

“Manila... nasa Manila siya. Hindi siya pumupunta dito.” Sh*t! Veron Valentine was never here! It was all a bait. Ayesha is in danger.

“F*ck! We need to go to Manila now!” I told chief Walter who's busy fighting. When he's finished, he answered me.

“What do you mean?”

“That monster was never here. It was all a bait, they lured us here together with his wife for them to attack Ayesha. We need to go now, Chief.”

“Okay, calm down, kid. I'll contact the officers there to go and protect Ayesh---” Chief didn't get to finish what he's saying when his phone rang.

“What? Can you track her phone? Or the car used? Bullshit! I need you to order everyone to close all roads and search all areas near or even far from Ayeshaʼs subdivision.”

When the call ended, Chief looked at me.

“They already got her. But don't worry all the officers are doing their very best.”

“I can't lose her, Chief.”

Chief patted my shoulder like a father.

“Don't worry, kid. You won't, I assure you.”

I felt my phone vibrating, when I saw whoʼs the caller, it's unregistered. Chief nodded as a sign for me to answer the call.

“Jave...” It was Veron Valentine.

“Hurt her and I will kill you even your wife!” I threatened him.

“So you're brave now? My daughterʼs dream house, be there  before 8 am tomorrow or else you won't see your Ayesha anymore. Be there alone, if you disobey, I'll immediately kill her. Don't try me for I'm watching you.”

I will surely kill him if he hurts Ayesha.

We reached Manila again at almost 7 am.

“Attach this tracking device in your belt that way we can track your location.”
