The house was silent as Jaylyn entered, a wave of hatred rushed through her for a moment as she saw a family portrait and didn’t hold back as her fist made contact with the frame. After it fell to the ground, the glass broken, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath to get her rage under control. Sarcastic clapping and footsteps came from the living room and Jaylyn turned around to see Jack Sladen walking towards her with Lucas Wahl close behind him.

“How did you know I would be here and what are you doing working with him?” Jaylyn scowled towards Lucas as she spoke to Jack.

Jack shrugged. “We followed you and I made a deal with him, kind of like how we made one about the photo. Lucas won’t try killing me to become immortal and I provide him with a way to kill people and test just how many people there are like us out there for him to choose from for experiments.”

            “You disgust me.”

Lucas stepped forward and Jaylyn subconsciously flinched, causing a hurt look to cross his face. “Jaylyn, don’t hate me. I was just curious… I-I just wanted people to pay attention to me… to make them realize I’m not just some stupid medical examiner assistant, that I can actually help out more than I was allowed to.”

“That changes nothing.” Jaylyn gave him a cold, murderous look. “In fact, I would leave now before I decide lose what little restraint I have and kill you were you stand.”

“Now, now, we’re all friends here.” Jack interrupted and stood between the two of them. “I know this was your work Carver, and we have decided to help you with your revenge. Just set Samuel Treen up where we can catch him and I promise he’ll be in perfect condition for you to torture him to death.”

“What do I have to do in return?” She asked cautiously.

“You keep everyone off our trail and kill anyone who tries to get in the way of our plans.”

“That goes against our other agreement, no one hurts my friends, and I won’t get revenge on you for killing off my family and killing me.”

“I’m willing to break that agreement.” Jack smirked. “I can’t die anyway.”

Lucas cleared his throat. “Uh, can we just get to the reason we came here?”

“And what could that reason possibly be?” Jaylyn reached for her gun.

“We want your help as well, in return I can clear your name and destroy the evidence that you killed these people… without any of your friends dying.”

Jaylyn cocked her head to the side. “That does sound like a good deal but…”

She lunged forward with her gun in hand, aiming to stab Lucas in the chest, but Jack shoved her to the side where she slammed into a wall. Jaylyn glared at him and took out her new dagger instead before jabbing it at his face and leaving a nice cut down the side of his face. She passed by him as the pain distracted him and caught up with Lucas as he tried to get out through the back door, she kicked his legs out from under him and pinned him to the ground as she placed the dagger to his throat.

“I should kill you and just end it… but recently I’ve found that giving people pain is much more satisfying.” Jaylyn was about to say more but her cell phone rang and she was forced to answer it or risk Jo showing up without warning. “What is it Jo?”
