A few days have passed since I told Kate those three words. She didn't say it back, but I expected as much. Instead, I got a hug and a kiss. Im not complaining or anything - no, its just that there's this voice in the back of my mind telling me to quit while I'm ahead.

That Kate's just dragging me along as her backup if her and Dylan don't make it. Or that I'm just being used for her amusement of sorts. I've been trying to ignore those thoughts ever since that day.

"Sam ..you still there", a voice asks.

Oh, I forgot that Red called to finalise everything. She seems a bit on edge lately. I guess this is a pretty important event, I can't mess this up.

"Yeah ...sorry I've ...been a bit distracted lately".

" Oh no, that won't do. What's got your mind all worked up", she asks.

"It's stupid, I'm sure you have more important things to do than listen to me rant".

" Oh shut up.. where are you, I have time. Besides I need you at your best tomorrow so you are of high importance. We can talk more at the cafe. Text me your location or meet me there".

With that, the call ended.
I guess I'm heading to the cafe today. Throwing together an outfit, I make my way through the living room to grab my helmet.

"Your leaving", a familiar voice asks.

"Yeah..I'm meeting someone at the cafe", I reply as I give myself a once over in a nearby mirror.

"A date", she states dissmissively.

"It's not a date", I remark.

" Sure looks that way to me", she argues while flicking through the channels.

I place my helmet at the other end of the couch as I make my way towards her. Removing the remote out of her hand, I attempt to pull her up. She puts up a bit of a fight, but in the end concedes. I wrap my arms around the small of her back as I gaze down at her pouting expression. Tracing small circles with my thumb, she reluctantly looks up at me still sporting a pout.

"It's not a date", I say and kiss her forehead.

She says nothing and her gaze drifts off into the distance.

"What are you doing later", I ask her.

Her thoughts now broken, she looks up at me and replies," Nothing .. why".

" I'm gunna take you on a date".

"A date", she asks a bit confused yet excited.

" Yeah ..yunno flowers, holding hands, taking yo-".
Her lips meet mine in a firey kiss.
Wow...I can't even think straight at the moment. She's left me speechless once again.

"I know what a date is Sam", she retorts and walks away. Not before telling me to hurry back. Why was I leaving again....oh right I'm meeting up with Red.

Driving into the lot, I park my bike and head inside the cafe. A woman sitting at the front of the cafe beside a window waves over to me.

She's wearing a white blouse along with a black palazzo pants. Gold jewelry decorated her slender neck and delicate wrist. The other held a fancy watch that looked about brand new. A few fingers also held a bit of jewelry.

" What took you so long I was waiting for hours", she exasperates.

Do I know this woman. She seems to know me, she's probably mis- RED!!
Confused, I sit on the opposite side of the table. My eyes not leaving her as my brain attempts to figure out this red headed enigma.

" Red, is that you" , I ask in disbelief.

"What do you mean. Of course it's me, who else would I be".

Was she always like this. I mean a hottie..yes. Good in bed..yeah. But this is on a whole other level. It's hard to picture this woman before me, serving coffee. I'd more likely believe her to be a CEO of a company before anything else. Her demeanor just screams rich and I never got that vibe from her before today.

"Kidding Sam... I know it's a bit much. I had just left a meeting with my father when we spoke and came straight here".

"Is your father the king or something", I joked taking a sip of water the waitress brought out for me.

"I guess you could say that", she laughed awkwardly.

I choked a bit on my drink...

"Geez I was kidding." She looks at me a bit concerned. After catching myself, she continues.

"He's the CEO of a company and chain enterprise. So I guess you can say he's pretty important".

In disbelief about this new-found information, I give her a once over.

"Anyways what's gotten your mind preoccupied- or should I say who", she asks giving me a knowing look.

"How do you know it's someone".

"Sam come on, you talk about her all the time. Kate.. right. What did she do now".

A bit embarassed, I take a minute to gather my thoughts. Do I really talk about her that much.

" She didn't do anything....or ...maybe that's the problem".

" What do you mean", she asks waiting for me to elaborate.

"A few days ago, I told her that I loved her", I confess.

" Wait...the straight friend. The one who has a boyfriend....Damn.

"Yeah", I admit sullenly.

" What did she say", she asked as if knowing the answer already.

"She didn't say anything, she just hugged me and we kissed".

"Huh", she huffed in deep thought.

" Yeah", I reply in defeat.

" Well she's obviously feeling you...but stringing you along when she has no intention of breaking up with her boyfriend...that's cruel".

Falling back into my seat, I let out a huge sigh.

" Hey cheer up, you can eat as much icecream as you want today, on me", she proposes.

This perks me up a bit, "On you huh", I tease.

She laughs at that. Her smile reaching up to her eyes that are just a bit open, but with her thick eyelashes seem to be closed.

" For someone that should be heart broken, you sure can flirt", she retorts.

With that she directs my attention to tomorrow's event. We went over the dos and don'ts and she told me a bit about her father and herself. Yunno things that her significant should know and what her father might potentially ask me. For one, her actual name is Elizabeth and her father is Fredrick Price CEO of Price Institute.

To be honest, with all the information she was loading me with...I'm getting a bit nervous about meeting her father. He sounds like a serious man, one that takes no bullshit and this seemed to be the biggest bullshit we were planning on serving him tomorrow. Liz notices my nervousness and tries to reassure me that the plan will work.
