Chapter Five

Lying in her majestic bed, Adrianna reminisced about her departed husband and how much he was the pillar of their family when a tear fell off her cheek onto the pillow, she then thought of something happy; the moment her second son walked in the house quietly and explained everything he has been up to inside the enemy’s camp.

They had purposely crafted a deadly plan when he informed her that some of his fellow colleagues had decided to come after Caleb at home and he wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Feeling a bit relieved that they won that evening; she turned and put the lights off, said a prayer for her kids and closed her eyes.

Lying alone in his bed, Caleb was perturbed after the revelation that evening about his father’s last moments alive, how he struggled against his friend who had betrayed him and all the threats he had received and still never backed down, therefore he decided that there was a need for a small vacation with his wife who he knew he had abandoned in the name of her safety.

In his mind, there was a need to make up for lost time between them, for the way he loved her he didn’t expect his family to understand, so he called her and told her to pack up and be ready the next day by 2pm, then texted Nate to postpone their plan for a week or two so as to get his affairs in order.

Lying happy, nude and satisfied in bed, Nate received a text from Caleb to stall the deal they made for a week or more for him to take a holiday, he replied “okay” then put his phone on the table next to bed and then turned to kiss his girlfriend Caitlin who had just got into bed from freshening up.

Proceeding to have another round of pleasure and desire for each other's bodies, followed by quick breathing and suspicious noise coming from both of them after climaxing, she looked straight into his eyes curious to know what had him in such an awesome mood and before asking, she instead turned to her side and closed her eyes.

Left awake and a bit sweaty, He thought of how he was going to make it up to Gabe who apparently is the most stubborn sibling in the family, he left him a voice message too that they needed to meet and he picks the location, he then proceeded to put his phone on silent mode and fell asleep too.

Lying alone in her bed, Christina pondered about her husband’s visit and how her life has turned into a reality television series or a scary movie when suddenly her phone vibrated and she glowed when she saw it was him, she picked up and he spoke so fast telling her to pack for a week and that she deserved a vacation outside the country then he hanged up.

Feeling doubtful about the call, she got up and with some little effort managed to pack up one bag and as she was heading back to slumber land she had a naughty thought, went back to add some bikinis just in case then got back into bed feeling like she’s about to embark on a fulfilling yet mystery adventure.

Lying down on a hammock furious at his family, Gabriel had driven to Natasha’s house, parked outside for a while then decided not to burden her with his family matters, then headed out of town to go see Britney, the ex-girlfriend who understood him as she was there during all good and bad moments while he was growing up without a father and an absent brother.

That evening after the revelation he had walked in her house and jumped on her hammock that was in the middle of her sitting room, when she looked at his face which had become more of an imagination more than a reality, she could see for old time’s same it was screaming for help, thus went and poured him some vodka and offered it to him so as to calm him down and maybe just maybe open the most secure part of his body; his heart.

It took him some time but with Britney his mind was used to connecting with her, so he spilled about all the events that took place that evening at the same time every sentence she was nodding and letting out some screams as if Gabe was explaining to her parts of a scary or horror movie.

Being a shrink she was able to help him emotionally and explained that now the truth of his father was out, he needed to work together with his siblings to either exact revenge or move away to start a better life. Gabe didn’t agree to any of the choices as he didn’t know anything of the people’s identities to exact revenge on and also moving wasn’t something he ever wanted to do.

She urged him to sleep on it and then tomorrow go see Nathaniel and maybe try to understand why he did what he did and afterwards choose to either forgive him or continue living like a deserter within his family.

Gabriel got off the hammock and hugged her, placed the glass on the table and then asked her where he will lay down for the night, knowing they had a history together and didn’t want to reboot that, she indicated to him to pick either the hammock or the sofa.

Britney put off the lights, took her laptop to her room pushed the door then stood there for a minute or two making up her mind to either lock the door or not, picking the former she pushed the lock in place, took a deep breathe, placed the laptop on her desk and called it a night.

Lying not on a bed, but the act of not saying the truth, two of Shambugu men did that to their master when he asked of the whereabouts of two of their own people, who he didn’t know had been murdered by Atticus some hours ago, worried that the agency near caught up with him and It didn’t feel like a coincidence that they may have got to some of his people.

Furiously he called onto all his undercover people to stay indoors and the ones there to not leave the compound so as to avoid getting caught and be used as bait by the agency to get to him or his boss, Mr. Roberts.

Early morning, the first thing Caleb did was call the agency and explained to his supervising officer about taking some personal days together with his wife whom they needed to process a release via the Marshalls protecting her. The release didn’t take long but it had to be done and he was briefed on measures while travelling with her so as to ensure a safe return, inside his head he ignored every word for all he wanted was alone time with his spouse.

Christina was ready by the time he got to the safe house and they headed straight to the airport, got into a private jet and once the plane was in the air, he summarized the present events and the ten year history class they had had yesterday to her. She was lost for words for a minute or two, when she recovered she thought he was moving her somewhere else to which he replied in the negative and clarified how much they deserved a holiday just the two of them safely somewhere new.

When they landed at the airport, they got off airport terminal 3 where they were then picked up by a classy Rolls Royce Phantom; the driver came out and greeted them, introduced himself as Sulaiman and politely opened the door to let them in then picked their light luggage and put it safely in the back.

They arrived at the Burj Al Arab hotel after a small tour around the city, Caleb tipped the driver who in turn gave him his business card and insisted he call whenever he needed, they checked in and once inside their lavish 7 star room they got to breathe in the most beautiful view they have ever seen in their lives.

There was a knock on the door and the man of the house went to get it, he received a package addressed to him and set it on the table, after some minutes they got some food delivered and were informed that there will be belly dancers and an Arabian artist performing that evening.

They might have fallen asleep or somewhat because something woke them up; a loud tone actually it was a phone’s ringtone that was neither theirs nor familiar to them, Caleb deduced that it was coming from the box which he had received earlier and walked slowly over to it, took a deep breath and opened the box.
