Chapter Seventeen

ONE WEEK LATER

Caitlyn is discharged from the hospital and is being pushed out on a wheelchair by her faithful boyfriend Nate, they reach the parking lot and he holds her hand steadily to his car and they take a drive up to the beach to enjoy the breeze.

Having sat for a while in the car, he asks her considerately, "Honey would you like to stay in a hotel for the night?"

She replied in the affirmative and they checked in into the finest beach hotel, booked a VIP room and put the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door.

They sat at the balcony and swallowed the awesome view, had some soft drinks and he decided to confess, "Honey, there is a lot you don't know about me; I think it's about time I told you my story."

She looked at him and jokingly said, "I love what I'm seeing, there's no need for that" she saw the frown on his face and took his face into her hands and assured him, "Really Nate I mean it, let me recuperate first then we will discuss this, does that vibe well with you?"

His smile returned and his face became warm, they spoke of other things to pass time before they started kissing and caressing each other perfect bodies all the way to the bed, she winced a bit when he moved her body on top of his and he offered to stop and let her rest, she agreed and took her pills, looked at him then whispered "I love you Nate" then sluggishly slept off.

Nate stayed awake; in his mind he remembered how he first crossed roads with his ultimate target; the person who killed his father. Some days before, while still recruited in the Navy Seals Shambugu had also killed his Seals trainer who he had respected very much. During the burial, he moved him to the top of his kill list but then he got an offer to join the federal bureau and found out that Sham worked there too as an undercover special agent.

The federal bureau is one of the highest agencies in the world and they were responsible for many secret and undercover missions that always ended with targets eliminated, after Eric Roberts was apprehended he gave up his old crew and went into protective custody and Shambugu was assigned to him.

Little did the bureau know, these two were in cahoots and they upgraded to big time business as Shambugu had an army of killers by his side and Roberts had the mind to conquer small countries and turn them into superpowers.

They left the city together and it has been years since anyone saw Roberts physically, he was like a master behind a chess game, you don't notice when the pieces are moving, only what damage they bring once moved.

After some years of searching for them, Nate was officially off the Navy Seals duty and had started working at the bureau when Shambugu came for him to work side by side as he needed someone who was trained well and had a powerful shooting capability.

He had to accept the deal and whenever they went for missions with fellow workmates he managed to kill them all after they started to trust him, thus from time to time he was reducing the size of the army slowly until the general decided to let him go to missions alone as he didn't want his numbers to reduce frantically.

Nate proved to be their best sniper and he was ordered to start teaching the others but with time, none was near his level and that made his place next to his most valued target more precious, he was learning more and more from him every day thus he was among the trusted with the plans, under the table deals and killings that were needed for Mr. Roberts to finally show his moves on the chess board.

Once he knew of the plans he asked the general to let him go home and wait for the plan to be set in motion and he was to meet them halfway where he had set also his diabolical plan to end them all, maybe die happy too considering how sure he knew there was no happy ending that involved his girl and family, that's why he came to do it now as the future always has unexpected outcomes.
