The Three Lanes

Chapter Nine

Gabriel arrived late for his lunch date and a text arrived from Natasha, as he was replying to it his mother arrived from the reception with a waiter behind her who dropped two menus on their table for them to order.

He stood up and pulled a chair for his mother, kissed her cheek and let her sit, "hello mum, how you doing?" she smiled at him and replied, "Fine, how is your training fairing?"

"Training is going on well, I will be good at it pretty soon" he explained then continued to reply another message. Adrianna glared at him, "do you think i should start paying for your attention?"

Being truly distracted he said "Hmm, come again mom, I didn't hear what you just asked" she swiftly stood up and snatched the smartphone from his hand, being in a five star restaurant, he resisted the urge to fight for his phone back and in the process create a scene.

Adrianna started to look at the messages and she was amazed yet surprised on the content being discussed between his last born and his female companion. It was wild yet honest and she asked him to promise to give her his attention just for lunch then he can go on and chat all day with her.

Natasha: Hi

                                                          Gabriel: Hey

Natasha: How are you?

                    Gabriel: I'm good, what's on your mind?

Natasha: Most definitely you, doing me hard and sweaty

                                    Gabriel: Interesting, I'm so having you for dinner tonight

Natasha: I miss you inside of me, every minute and everyday

                    Gabriel: It's going to be steak, oil, a piece of kebab, a wonderful doughnut and chocolate for dessert

Natasha: Wow, spice it all up then beat all the ingredients together in one bed and make a satisfying meal

       Gabriel: Just make sure you don't scream so loud while that's happening

Natasha: Don't worry about my screaming, it means you are doing it perfectly

    Gabriel: To be continued, having serious lunch with mother, will tell you about it laters

Natasha: Cheers Gabe, let me know what time you are coming to pick me up... <3

Mother and son ordered their food as she explained to him that if he's serious with this girl, Natasha that he should tell her about the plan which ultimately involves leaving the country as soon as their revenge is completed.

Gabriel thought about it and assured her they will discuss it that night when they meet, she wasn't so sure about it after reading those sexy starved texts of them but let him make the right choice.

He escorted her to her luxury car and kissed her other cheek farewell and went to his car and called Natasha telling her he's coming over to the university library to discuss some things first before their awaited night consisting of nude bodies and desire being the main factor.

After a week of more training with his little brother and passing by the compound to see if they needed their help with the assault, Nathaniel reached his loft to find Caitlin there trying so hard to surprise him with a fabulous meal, she had a mat on the floor, large candles around and some nice smell coming from the kitchen which he rarely uses.

As he announced his presence, she was half shocked wearing an apron but he smiled and assured her that he found her efforts "cute" and kissed her forehead which made her super relieved, after dinner he started throwing some ideas about them moving away together trying to see if she was into the relationship for the long haul or just for the time being.

Caitlin asked him for some time to think as they had "some issues at job that needed addressing", they lied down, started chatting about life, love and money, she then curved herself at his chest as she felt he was his only life protector.

As they were about to close their eyes under the light of the candles, her phone rang and it startled them, she got up slowly, crawled to where she left it and picked up and only one word was uttered from the other side, "Emergency."

Caitlin took pieces of clothing she had removed a while ago, wore them in a hurry, announced to her boyfriend that there's an emergency at her workplace and she had to go solve it, he was surprised at this but by the time he shouted back, "but you are just an analyst" the door was already closed.

Shambugu had noticed that in three weeks, he had lost some of his goons and he knew that the agents at the Agency are the only people who can get to him and hit him hard so he planned an attack at their main headquarters downtown that night.

The plans and strategy were carefully premeditated and after receiving the blueprint of the organization, the wheels were set on motion, even though Atticus wasn't concerned with what they were doing he was told enough by his people except what the target was, which usually the general enjoyed to departmentalize.

Weapons set, minds set, they left the compound and reached their intended target after some minutes, they immediately set up to gain entry via the roof and the basement while others through the front door. The men on the roof gained access to the Agency via the building opposite them through a zip-line; the other ones went through the secret pipes as a gateway to the basement and vault where valuables were stored securely.

The general went in with his hand-picked men through the front door and shot the reception lady, this triggered an alert to all agents that there was a break-in and they had to react immediately. They shot some security men on their way to the elevators and instead chose the stairs as they can easily shoot their way down.

The men on the roof went down the building floor by floor shooting anyone in sight till they got to the 5th floor where the Agency handled their night operations, mostly analysts and computer geeks were working that shift and weren't good with weapons, it was obviously going to be a massacre.

They were gathered around and were questioned on any information concerning his men which he feels were caught or killed, as the people present had no idea they were all shot on the head. Abel got on the computer screens and searched for any information and then copied it all on an external thumb drive which he gave to the general.

Caitlin sneakily came through a window on the mezzanine floor as she knew all accesses were compromised, she got to take down one assassin and shoot another in the leg before suddenly she caught a bullet herself in the chest from Cain who was hiding on the opposite building with a sniper rifle covering his fellow goon squad.

General Shambugu ordered his men to cover all corners of the floor with explosives and to leave the premises in five minutes before it blew, on the way down past the reception lounge he saw Caitlin bleeding profusely and was about to end her when he heard the police sirens coming, he hesitated as he was more concerned about getting his crew out than cowering over the police.

Caitlin was lucky enough to have worn a bullet proof vest; the blood coming off her was caused by the shattered glass window which had destructed to let the bullet in and inside her vest. The glass had cut her in many places on her thigh and waist; she crawled and got to the phone and dialed then waited.

 Her patience paid off as after some seconds it was picked, "hello? Is everything alright" asked Caleb. She was relieved to hear his voice, "come home boss, we were just hit, pretty bad, casualties and......"

All he could hear was static and he hurriedly ran to pack his clothes, announced to Christina that they were just hit; she got off bed and put the Plasma smart Television on and the breaking news read:

          "EXPLOSION AT THE 5TH FLOOR OF THE ASA BUILDING DOWNTOWN"
