The Three Lanes

Chapter Nineteen

Caleb felt excruciating pain in his head, he struggled to open his eyes and his instincts told him to feel around slowly as he could smell the rusty smell of blood all over the place. He opened them and noticed he wasn't on the crash site anymore but in an enclosed facility with armed men and Shambugu leading them.

He turned to his left then right and found out that there were five people with him; a law officer, his old mate and three people to which he noticed had the same tattoos. Shambugu turned around and saw him awake and then suddenly shot one of the tattooed guys in the head.

The shot was so loud and the next second the silence hit them like a speeding train.

Shambugu looked at him and said "I have never been so lucky in my life; I will take my time with you; break all your limbs and watch you try crawling away and if you won't give me the information I need, I will put a bullet in every layer of your spine.

He then smiled and continued, "I will then crucify you and post it online for everyone to see, you should have never made me your enemy by accident."

"You did all this because I took away all the billions you stole, you grew up that poor?" he asked the villain, to which he replied, "If you came into this world broke, it's not your fault, but if you live the rest of your life broke, that's your fault."

The agent smirked, "You are fluent in the international language of bullshit; it's impressive."

Sham hit him with the end of his gun, Caleb knew he was in a tight situation, "Fuck you" he muttered under his breath as he started to lose consciousness.

The airplane hit some turbulence and she felt nausea, removed her belt as she had made up her mind then jumped off her chair, sped up to the loo and looked for a place to relieve herself.

Sitting in the airplane toilet after vomiting again, Christina was impatiently waiting on the test she had bought from the airport chemist before boarding the plane and in less than a minute confirmed something she never thought would happen ever again in her life.

"Fuck I'm pregnant" she told herself with a smile.

After a whole week of sitting at the court because the government was investigating the agency on charges of corruption and working with terrorists; namely Mr. Roberts, Caitlyn was awaiting the ruling that the secretary of state was going to give.

She had given her testimony that during the time the agency was mixed with the cyber terrorists being led by Shambugu's organization, she was in the ICU and her doctors and the staff of the hospital had all issued sworn statements on that. Nate had told her that they might be looking for scape goats and that's why she went through all the effort to defend herself in court.

All the agency operatives were available except Caleb; who apparently was away on holiday and heading back some day this week, most of the senior guys were the ones running the show and were the guiltiest according to Caitlyn and she hoped that they will be caught and charged.

Once the break was over, they walked in back inside the court and some names were mentioned, hers included and once the list of ten agents concluded; it was announced that they were the ones to walk away free as the rest were all found guilty.

Everyone was in shock when they heard that, the next announcement made by the judge was that the agency as they knew it was being disbanded and the government was taking away all the weapons, files, buildings and offsite information to make sure that anything that was once associated with it disappeared from existence.
