Chapter Fifteen

One week later at the hospital back home, the doctor announced the good news to Nate, "The brain swelling has decreased, her heartbeat is normal and she's bound to wake from her comatose state at any moment" he smiled with delight and said, "She better wake up while I'm around because it has been a terrifying experience waiting for her to open those exceptional eyes, thanks doctor for everything you have done for us."

When he got back inside the room, Caleb was waiting for him and asked, "Brother, who do you really work for?" he looked at him then replied softly, "This isn't the right time and place for this conversation, this is where I tend to tell people things then kill them and I don't plan to do that to you, all I'm saying is you don't have to know about my employer, just let it go my lovingly big brother."

Caleb hesitated then pointed at Caitlin still unconscious on the bed then told him, "Okay fine, but she will want to know one day, it better be soon or you will lose her forever because of your secrets" he then left after shaking his hand.

Nate took a deep breath then sat at his normal place next to the bed, held her hand and said, "Come on babe wake up already, I miss you so much and there's no one to talk to about the plenty shit that's happened ever since you got here" His phone vibrated and he picked up with a smirk on his face.

"Hello general, heard you been shot at and nearly killed twice by the agency, how you holding up?" he heard him laugh then replied back at him, "You smart ass, it seems I'm running out of tricks with these guys, anyway the reason of this call is to order you to stay low for the next three months and you will be summoned after we have dealt with this agency business, take care my comrade." And he hanged up hastily, most definitely to avoid being traced to the location he was at.

He placed his phone down at the table, held her hand and with love in his eyes reminded himself of the good times they had together; he remembered the first time he saw her at some government dinner function; this blossoming creature in a wonderful red dress. He walked up to her while in his mind he was creating new sentences so as to entice her.

Part of him was thinking, "one night stand" but when she turned around to face him, his heart took a one millisecond tea break and his brain suddenly started thinking, "for better, for worse till death do us part."

They had a nice evening talking, drinking and learning a lot about each other, he didn't seem to mind that their jobs would pit them to kill each other at one time but he had faith in her as she was the most indulgent between the two of them.

This is how his love story had started and he didn't want it to end just yet, in his mind he knew it was about time he told her the truth about who he really is and if she's okay with it, to propose to her then move far away from everything that he had become.

In case that doesn't happen and she alters her feelings to hate, he knew that his suffering will be a good punishment and still felt that moving away from the country and into the paradise his family had arranged for all of them was a good idea for the both of them.

Gabriel woke up next to this beautiful woman, the sun was so bright as some of the rays had already been inside the house uninvited and yet he froze at the sight of her all flawless and lying next to him, since he knew she had pardoned him, he moved closer to give the kiss that would wake the sleeping beauty.

Seconds before his lips touched hers, hers spoke, "What do you think you are doing?" he smiled and pulled away, "it was worth the try after all, I know about the exquisite feelings you have for me."

Britney got up but he was still thinking "she's such a perfect beauty" when she noticed him looking, smiled and told him, "yes I love you but I'm not in love with you, now get up lets have breakfast I have to be somewhere within the hour."
