Okay, relax Clara. He’s coming over to me. He’s wearing a red polo shirt. His green eyes and his brown hair perfect like always. “Hey Clara” He says leaning with his side to the locker next to mine. He’s so close I can even smell his men body soap.
“Hi Drew” I say turning to close my locker then looking back at him with a smile.
“Hey, your birthday’s tomorrow! I wanted to take you out to dinner; I’ll pick you up at 7:30 okay?”
I had totally forgotten about my birthday “Thank you Drew, but really, you don’t have to take me anywhere” just tell me you love me back, that’ll be my perfect birthday present. I think.
“I know I don’t have to, but I want to. You’re my best friend” he said smiling.
He had to say it. It broke my heart thinking that we were best friends and that’s all we’ll ever be. I’m to coward to tell him I like him, because I don’t want to ruin our friendship just because of my stupid feelings.
The bell rang “Thank you Drew!” I fake a smile.
“Sure, see you at lunch Clara” and with that he left to his next class.

Today’s the day. I’ll tell him I love him and just hope nothing’s ruined.
I’ve liked him for four years now, I have to tell him. He needs to know.
He picked me up and took me to this fancy restaurant. It was perfect except I didn’t tell him there. In the ride to my house we put some music and sang along to our favourite songs.
We pulled at my house and he opened the car door for me. We went to my porch.
“Happy birthday Clara” he hugged me.
I’m a coward! How couldn’t I tell him! Stupid me! “Thank you Drew” I smile and turn to open the door to my house. Maybe another day I’ll tell him.
Just as I was about to enter my house I felt a hand on my arm. He turned me so I was facing him now. So close. Before I could say anything he pressed his lips against mine.
He kissed me! I moved my arms to his neck while he placed his on my waist, pulling me closer to him. We pulled from the kiss. Both shocked. Looking at each other not believing it.
“I love you Clara” he finally said it!
I just stood there. Shocked. He loves me back! “I love you too”
