it had been years since you had seen carol. you hadn't given up hope, after all, she had seen you through holograms in the avengers compound, but it wasn't the same as getting to hug her and fall asleep next to her each night. little did you know, carol was hovering just above the avenger compound in the sky. she caught your gaze through the window, and beamed towards you. you looked at her in awe, smiling back.
she was home.
