Meredith awoke again this time on the floor of her foyer. She rose from the floor and looked at the clock in a panic. She was late. Very late. Meredith raced up the stairs ignoring the pain rattling through her body. She didn't want to be any later than she already was but couldn't go to the hospital looking that unrepresentative. She quickly popped in two pills and turned on the shower.

She showered quickly wincing as she scrubbed over the bloody bruises surrounding her body. Still waiting for the pain relief to kick in. She didn't quite remember the events from the night before the only way she knew it happened was how many marks she had over her body. She hopped out of the shower and dried her hair, popping it in a low bun. Once she was dressed she  applied like makeup covering any marks. Thankfully Derek hadn't hit her on the face.

Meredith raced outside after grabbing her keys and drives quickly to the hospital. She was already at least 45 minutes late and was freaking out eternally. She finally arrived and raced inside.

"Ah, nice of you to join us Grey. You're on scut." Bailey yelled as Meredith passed her and their intern group. Cristina noticed her panicked demeanor but didn't think much of it. She figured she was just panicking for being late.

Meredith raced to the locker room and changed into her scrubs, thankful nobody else was there. She headed out and grabbed a stack of charts, making her way towards the tunnels.

Jo was watching as Meredith raced out of the locker room. She was doing rounds with Dr.Christ, her resident, when she saw Meredith race away towards the tunnels. She sighed eternally noticing how late her fellow intern was. She listened as her resident gave out jobs and was thankful when she was chosen for scut. Usually an intern would despise that but Jo was grateful for a chance to speak to Meredith.

Jo quickly collected her own set of charts and went in the same direction of Meredith.

Meredith had finally made her way to the tunnels sighing in her own embrace. She plopped on the cot, one of many lining all the way up the hall, and stared at the charts in her hands. She thought about everything that happened that past night and even the previous weeks. She was on the point of a breakdown but tired to stay strong. She flipped open the first chart and began rewriting and collecting information. Before she new it small water droplets were falling in the paper. She hadn't even realized she was crying till she was. She looked straight up trying not to let them fall when she suddenly hear footsteps.

"Meredith?" Jo questioned as she entered the small hallway in the basement. She had never been there before. When she saw Merediths small figure on the bed she noticed a slight sniffle and Meredith quickly wiped her face and began to keep charting. Jo's heart broke for her friend (hopefully friend).
"Are you ok?" Jo asked as she walked over and plopped herself down next to the other intern.

"I'm fine." Meredith said quietly. Jo knew that was a lie but didn't want to push it. At least not yet.

"Well, you can always talk to me. I'm always up to talk." Jo said kindly with a heartfelt smile. Meredith looked up to see if she was actually being genuine. And she was. Jo immediately noticed her slightly puffy eyes rimmed with redness. Her suspicions were correct she had been crying. Jo quickly leant into a hug. Meredith flinched at first, not knowing how to respond. She usually wasn't one for hugs, especially being touched by other people, but this hug made her feel safe. So she accepted it and returned it at the same time, let a few tears escape her eyes. They both removed themselves from the hug.
