-Two weeks later-

Meredith took a deep breath, feeling the air go through the trach in her neck. She no longer had the ventilator but the tube still entered into her throat.

She was sitting upright in a meeting room alone. Soon she would be meeting with some officers. Her slowly healing knee sat limp while her other damaged foot without its tears was tapping rapidly.

She hadn't openly talked about the attacks and pain she endured since it happened. There were statements form the FBI agents and other doctors but they wanted Meredith to explain the whole of it.

She took more wheezy breaths through her damaged trachea, she hadn't had a lot of time to prepare but just last week she attended speech and physical therapy. Her doctors thought it was best to wait it out for the mental aspect as Meredith wasn't being very open.

"Mer?" Meredith quickly looked up from the floor as she stared at Cristina and Jo as they both entered the room. She had asked them both to be there so she didn't have to do it alone.

"Hi." Meredith whispered with a rasp. They both sat on either side of her bandages body. She still had bruising along her neck and face, along with a large scar along her cheek where bottle had been chucked at her face.

Her scarred head was being covered by hair and healing nicely. Everything was following the path it was supposed to.

Almost everything.

She lightly pulled at her fingers as her eyes felt eratic. They always did. She never felt safe or pain free, she wanted it to all go away. The simple solution would be the pills lying in her bathroom cabinet.

She yearned for them, silently begged inside her mind and body as her leg and arms throbbed. She still had slight numbness in her right hand from the gunshot damage and her stomach was sore and weak form the surgery.

So in reality she wasn't even near to being fine. But she pretended and sucked up her pain in order to please others.

"Hello, hello." A firm voice spoke while lightly opening the door, revealing two officers that began to walk in. Meredith continued to fidget and prod everywhere she could, watching silently as the officers sat down.

"Hi Dr. Grey, I'm Officer Jenkins and this is Officer Prude. We want this to go smoothly and we want you to know anything you say is safe and will not be shared until court with your permission." The female officer spoke. Meredith nodded while reaching to fidget with her trach tube, Jo quickly enveloped Meredith's hands in her own and held them firmly.

"We want you to take your time and go slow, but use as much detail as possible." Officer Prude said while pulling out a notebook and pen form his bag. Meredith took a deep breath while nodding slowly.

"So, when did you and Derek meet?" One of the officers questioned. Meredith but her lip while ripping at the skin while she thought.
