chapter 6: an unknown foe arrives

Kora pov

I wake up and eat breakfast, then take a shower, I get into my costume, I'm going as Edward Kenway. I walk up to Jett's door and ring the doorbell Jett lets me in

Jett:"  I'm getting the last few finishing touches done for my costume. if you want we could go up to my room and talk while I'm doing that"

me:" ok"

we walk up the stairs to his room. I see his costume on his bed then move my gaze to his floor and see a dent in the wood, I look at it questioning what happened, Jett just tells me he just dropped something on the floor, so we talked for a little bit before he tells me he's putting his costume on, I turn around as he takes his shirt off but quickly glance back and see his back which is covered in scars, he's in really good shape ,and he has a dragon tattoo on his arm, he looks at me but I jerk my head back to face the wall, a couple seconds later he tells me I can look back, I see he has tan camo pants on, a black shirt with a bullet proof vest on with the punisher logo spray painted on it, he has black combat boots on along with combat gloves on his hands and a combat knife on his side, after he kissed me last night I realized I have feelings for him even if he doesn't know it

Jett:" ready to go"?

me:" yeah"

my brother drops us off and we walk into the convention center, I hold his hand, he doesn't seem to care, he looks at me and smiles, as we reach a group of my friends a group of girls are eyeing him, he doesn't notice, I give them a death stare, we get to my friends 

Zoe(a dragon furry was also dressed as an assassin):" hey Kora. this must be Jett. my name is Zoe"

Jett:" hey. nice to meet you"

Kora:" where's Megan"?

Zoe:" she's getting food from the snack bar"

Megan( a snow leopard furry Dressed as a member of the dark brotherhood from Skyrim):" hey guy's"( she trips and accidentally drops cup of soda when she sees Jett)

Jett quickly catches it and hands it back to Megan who blushes when he smiles at her

Megan:" h-hi"

Jett(smiling):" hi. I'm Jett, Kora's friend. nice to meet you "

Megan(blushing):" you too"

Jett(chuckling):" Guess we all dressed up as professional killers"

me(giggling):" yeah. I guess we are

we sit there and talk for a little bit then go walk around for and hour or so, all of a sudden Jett freezes then almost out of nowhere all hell broke loose

Jett pov

as we walked I had a strange feeling someone was following me at a distance then I heard the all too familiar sound. a gun safety click off

me(grabbing Kora and pushing a table over for cover):" get down"!!!!!!

The bullets started flying, peoples started running, I look at Kora, she's was going into shock, I kiss her on the forehead and tell her I'll be back, I see a guard that was shot through the head and grab his gun which I use to return fire, the assailant doesn't seem amused by my attempts to take him out soon we both run low on ammo so I rush him so he can't reload and we engage in one of the hardest fights of my life

Kora pov

I saw Jett rush the gunman so he couldn't reload, they then fought hand to hand, Jett threw a punch at the guy who countered and threw him into the stall right next to me. in my head I was begging for him not to be killed but he just stood up and looked at me 

Jett:" you ok"?

me(nervously): "yeah"

The man grabbed Jett by the throat squeezing, I thought I heard cracking, without even thinking I grabbed a leg from a table and hit the guy in the back causing him to let Jett go. the man kicked me then I heard Jett yell then saw him charge him, tackling the guy causing them both to crash through the window

me(runs to the window):" no"!!!

Jett(holding onto the ledge):" I'm ok, I grabbed the ledge at the last second"

me:" Thanks captain obvious"

the guy was nowhere to be seen, I help Jett up, we embrace each other, moving in about to kiss but then I hear the worst sound I could possibly hear. BANG!
