Mystic Falls High School
Everyone is preparing the Booster Club Barbecue. Caroline joins Tyler.
"How are you feeling?" Caroline asks.
"I'm okay. I'm sore, every muscle aches. You?" Tyler tells her.
"Same. But we did it. You know, we...our first full moon and we didn't hurt anyone. It'll get easier. We'll get better at it, we'll learn to control it and it won't hurt so much," Caroline tells him.
"Well, we don't know any of that for sure," Tyler says.
"No but small victories, Tyler. Last night was a victory. You know, let's take it," Caroline tells him.
"Look, I really appreciate that we did it together. I don't know what I would have done if you and Grace hadn't been there," Tyler tells her.
She smiles.
"Yeah, anyway, uh...next month we should probably reinforce the wall because we almost got Grace that one time and it just would have been, um..." Caroline begins to tell him.
"What?" Tyler asks.
"Never mind, it's..." Caroline begins.
"Wait, no, wait. What is it?" Tyler asks.
"Well, it's not a big thing, it's just that one bite and it's...you know, curtains for Grace," Caroline tells him.
"What are you talking about?" Tyler asks.
"The legend says that a bite from a werewolf can kill a vampire," Caroline tells him.
"How do you know that?" Tyler asks.
"I think...I think I read it somewhere..." Caroline tells him.
Forbes Residence
Tyler is sitting outside of Caroline's house, waiting for her. She arrives.
"Hey. Where have you been?" Tyler asks.
"At school. What's up? What's going on?" Caroline asks.
"We need to talk," Tyler says.
"Why? What's wrong with you?" Caroline asks.
"I just don't understand one thing," Tyler says.
"What?" Caroline asks.
"Why would Grace risk it? If a werewolf bite kills a vampire...why would she risk it?" Tyler asks.
"Because we needed help," Caroline says.
"We could have killed Grace," Tyler says.
"But we didn't," Caroline says.
"I don't understand Grace, Caroline," Tyler says.
"Why is it so hard for you to let some else help you?" Caroline asks.
"That's not it," Tyler says.
"Yeah it is, Tyler. It's like you don't want anyone to care about you and I'm sorry we care. We care Tyler so forgive us if we overstepped our boundaries by actually giving in. I have to get some sleep. Bye Ty," Caroline tells him.
"Sweet dreams, Care," Tyler says.
With that he leaves. Caroline goes inside and falls asleep quickly.
