Elle POV

She was amazing.

When Nate was born I always thought about when I would have a second and how I couldn't possibly love anything just as much as I loved Nate.

But I did.

She was here. Pretty much nine months after our little rendezvous in the science lab at our High School Reunion.

She was a little bit of a surprise, but she wasn't loved any less. We always knew that we wanted to give Nate either a brother or sister, we just didn't think about it happening that fast or soon.

Oh and in impeccable timing, in the same week Lee and Rachel announced they were expecting. June and Matthew had gone from having one grandchild to three and Noah was super chuffed fo

'You have a big brother who is very excited to meet you', I cooed as I rocked my sweet girl in my arms.

My pregnancy this time around was very similar to my first - only this time I was accompanied by a bouncing toddler who didn't slow down....no matter how sick I felt. Nate was beyond excited and his excitement grew as he watched my belly grow. He loved feeling the baby kick and giving it kisses. Noah, at times, had to remind him to be gentle. He was still a baby himself...although, sometime it felt like he was two going on twenty.

After almost 10 hours of labour, she was here in the early hours of the morning and perfect. Noah was stunned when our OBGYN announced that it was a girl. I thought he was protective of Nate, but there was shift in gear when he held our daughter for the first time. I had a special bond with Nate and I knew that Noah's bond would be with her.

She was going to be Daddy's Little Girl.

A knock at the door broke me out of my trance as I waved my Dad in.

'Hey Kiddo', he whispered as he walked in carrying a bunch of flowers and a little pink dolly.

'Hey', I smiled as I shifted the baby over to one arm, extending the other to give my Dad a hug. We were quiet for a few minutes as we both gazed at my little one.

'A little girl', he finally said as I passed her over. I nodded, still not believing it.

'Yep. Who would have thought? One of each!', I laughed as I reached for my water botttle while I let me Dad have a second with his new grand - daughter.

'You did good Elle. Both of you. Nothing like a little girl. A little boy is something, but a little girl is just.......', he broke off smiling.

'Well you would know', I said as he nodded.

'How's Noah?' Dad said after a while as he sat down on the chair, the baby didn't squirm. Clearly she was exhausted from the events of the day.

'Protective. Happy. In awe' I laughed, 'I don't think he can believe it. Noah Flynn, the ultimate player, has a daughter. It's a little like karma. I think he's just flashing forward to whom she might bring home...and if they are anything like him....'

'If she's anything like you Elle, she'll tell her Father that he's it. Regardless of what he did or how bad he hurt her', my Dad finished giving me a pointed look.

'Okay. I get it' I said, leaning back on the pillows as I reached for the envelope that lay with the flowers. This looked surprisingly familiar.

'Dad?' I said, holding up the envelope with Mum's familiar scribble on the front.

'She said 'if Elle ever has a baby girl'. Obviously, I couldn't give it to you with Nate, but this time round I can', my Dad said as he watched me pry the envelope open.
