"They say the heart only wants what it can't have.
So I guess your hand in mine will never fit
'Cause if I could find my heart inside this empty frozen chest
Then you would find that I'd give you all of it"

Dinner went smooth. Well, as smooth as it possibly could. George was glaring a lot – mostly directed towards Theo. Theo seemed as if he did not notice, and if he did notice the glaring, it was not affecting him like George had hoped so.

Once dinner was finished, Aurora stayed in the kitchen to help Molly clear away the dishes with Ginny. Theo found himself loitering around the doorway, unsure of what to do with himself. Aurora noticed and glanced over to Ron as he was grabbing a few bottles of beer from the refrigerator. They made eye contact and she quickly glanced to Theo, giving Ron the look. The 'be nice to my friend' sort of look. If that was even such a thing.

"So, Theo, fancy a beer?" Ron cleared his throat, turning to look over at the tall brunette.

"Yeah, yeah, thanks mate." Theo smiled and took a few bottles from Ron to alleviate the amount he had to carry into the living room. Hermione was the only girl in the room but found herself gravitating towards Theo to speak with him. Aurora made a mental note to thank the frizzy-haired girl later for her kindness.

Before turning back, she made eye contact with George. Again, he was brooding in the corner. Hmm, that must be his new thing, she thought to herself with a shake of her head. She turned back around, helping Ginny put the now clean dishes away as Molly found herself flittering about with her wand, cleaning up the table with a flick of her wrist.

Aurora did not let that bother her – she tried to ignore the napkins and utensils flying around to the best of her ability. She tried her best to swallow the nerves and anxiousness she was feeling in the pit of her stomach. She had been so wrapped up in drying off the glasses with a towel – the muggle way...much to Molly's dismay – that she did not notice Ginny walk off to join Harry on the couch. Another redhead took her place.

"Are you dating him?"

Aurora blinked. "I'm sorry, what?" She set the towel down and turned to lean against the counter with one hip, while her hand rested on the other. "What's it to you?"

George rolled his eyes. "I'm just asking, Rory." He grunted, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Well, the answer is no. Theo and I are not dating." Aurora whispered, chewing on her lower lip. "And quite frankly, I don't see why that would be any of your business anyway." She turned back around and put away the final pieces of dinnerware before closing the cabinet door.

She wasn't sure what it was – the feeling of being so close to George, alone in the kitchen, or the fact that she was around so much magic – but her fingertips felt numb. She could feel a buzzing beneath her skin, coursing through her veins. She was starting to get antsy. She needed to move – or leave... or something.

George sighed. "Look, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to pry. You can't blame me for being bloody curious. You brought that fucking death eater to my parents' home." George growled, pointing at Aurora before he turned his finger towards the living room.

"He's not a Death Eater, George." Aurora glared up at him, her arms now crossing over her chest. "He never got the mark. He wasn't really active in the war... you would know that if you got to know him. Instead, you're in here interrogating me on my personal life. It's not fair."

The brunette was trying her hardest not to get upset. It was honestly a bit too late for that – her eyes were welling up with warm tears that were begging to escape.
