Parkers povI sigh loudly while swiping my work card into the computer, making it clear to anyone around that I don't want to be here. I want to quit, so badly that I'm actually considering getting fired since my mom won't actually let me quit.
Maybe I push over a book shelf and watch them all tumble like domino's...
Ok but I can't afford the damage costs.
What? Nobody likes to work, especially not in dull librarys.
You'd think for someone that finds books so stupid I'd take that into consideration when searching for a part time job.
I guess saw the list of jobs I'd do and saw an easy grab. All I do is move a few books here and there and stand at the desk, nothing that requires actual effort.
I walk over towards the front counter and smile at one other staff members. "Hey Catherine." She turns to me and sighs.
"Parker i was supposed to go off an hour ago, and I told you call me Kat you moron." I laugh as she walks past.
"Sorry Catherine, guess I was too busy with my-" she quickly interrupts me.
"Your beauty sleep yeah you said that last time and it didn't stop me from putting salt in your coffee." I smirk as she walks away.
she's so fun.
I take a seat on the large spinny desk chair and begin to type away at the computer. Please say this doesn't have a locked browser, please say this doesn't have a locked broswer, please say-
The browser is locked.
Great, I have nothing to do.
I look around and study each person here, giving them random back stories.
Old lady by the history books, is actually a pimp looking for a heavy book to use as a weapon.
Little kid in the corner, likes to lick his own foot, looking for something to chew on.
Boy sat reading at the table, likes to- wait is that the guy from yesterday? What was his name again?
God I even made a joke about it!
"Hey um. You."
Wow parker, real smooth.
The boy doesn't turn to me, doesn't even bat an eye, just keeps his gaze locked on a random book.
My guess is it's about bugs, he looks like the type.
I look around the desk and smile once I see a bunch of empty post-it notes lying around. I begin to scrunch them up and look around to make sure nobody is watching me.
I smirk as I throw the post-it at the boy, hitting the middle of his page.
He blinks quickly and sits back before looking around and ignoring it.
So I throw another,
And another,
And one more-
"Hey can you stop?" I grin as he finally looks at me.
"Whats your name again?" He frowns.
"Is that what you wanted my attention for? To ask me of my name? Probably so you can make the same old joke as yesterday." I stay silent before nodding.
"Yeah pretty much, whats your name book boy." He shakes his head.
"I'm not telling you." I sigh. "Well I'm parker, parker owens. And by guessing that you probably will want to take that book home meaning you will have to check out, i'll definitely learn your name some time soon."
