"Why are you crying?" I wave a hand at catherine.
"Shh i'm on the last few pages." She stares at me. "You're reading." I nod.
"Yeah, I'm reading."
"But you hate reading, you said books are dumb." I look in her direction and nod. "I know, but I made blue watch banana fish, anyways shh! I'm on the last part and want to cry in peace." She hums.
"Ok but whoever this blue is must be a walking miracle worker." I roll her eyes and wave her off.
"I return my attention to the video, his voice blasting in my ears. I cross the street without an arm to hold me back."
I place a hand over my face as I put the book down. No way it ends like that?
Just as i'm about to go crazy, I see blue walk in, or more like the devil, he lied to me!
I storm over to him and slam my hands down on the table he's sat at.
"Um, hello?" I glare at him. "You lied to me." His face falls slightly.
"A-about what?" I hold up the book, which surprisingly makes him relax a little.
"I didn't." I nod. "You said the title was a lie." He nods. "And it is, it says they both die at the end, well technically rufus didn't die it's just heavily implied and confirmed by the author that he does." I grit my teeth.
"Same thing book boy, you got me crying at work!" He laughs softly.
He has a cute laugh may I add.
"Your fault for making me watch banana fish! I cried when watching the last episode right here!" I smirk and look away.
"Fair enough book boy fair enough." I stand up and walk back over to the desk and throw myself down onto the spinny chair.
"Thats blue?" I turn to Catherine and nod. "Thats blue." She smiles. "I've never could imagine you with a nerdy small friend. You seem the type to have football players as your friends, ones that all look like you. Not fragile shorties who look polar opposite." I snort.
"Fragile shorties? Thats how you see him?" I look over and study the smaller boy. I guess she's right.
"Anyways I can have a range of friends!" She hums and walks away. "My shift is over, have fun with your fragile shortie." I smirk.
I glance back over at blue. I suppose we do look different:
- he's short, i'm tall
- he has brown hair, I have blonde
- he has blue eyes, I have green
- he has no visible tattoos, I have a smiley face on my thumb.Wait speaking of tattoos-
"Hey book boy." He turns to me and sighs. "Yes parker?"
"Can I ask you a question." He nods. "Do you have your phoenix scar?"
Let me explain. A pheonix scar is a tattoo like scar you get on your body when you and your soulmate feel the same amount of emotion towards each other. Everyones soul gets a soulmate by the age of 2 and fate brings them together when they need each other the most. The two have to feel the same high amount of any emotion towards each other to gain the scar and everyones is custom to them. They glow when you get them, and any time that you and your soulmate feel that same high emotion.
I've never seen one in person, they seem kinda dumb.
"No, do you?" I sit back and smile. "No, not sure if I believe in them." He laughs softly.
"Parker, everyone has a soulmate, you can literally go on youtube and see people getting them." I shrug.
"Yeah but it's such a sci fi thing that it seems dumb." He nods. "So if this can happen in real life don't you think happy ever afters can too?" I hum.
"Maybe, but only for the main character of this long story we're all living. I mean we're all a villain in someones story, lets just hope not the main characters." He sighs. "I suppose your right."
Silence slowly falls over us, as though we are both trapped in thought.
"Hey are you gay." His head snaps towards me and he frowns. "What made you ask that?" I shrug.
"I'm looking for things we have in common, i'm bi so if you was gay that would cross the same line." He shrugs.
"I don't know, I don't really want to label myself. I just kinda want a love story of my own, I don't care who with... as long as they're nice of course." I grin.
"So a nice, green eyes, blonde haired librarian could come and sweep you off your feet-" He laughs.
"Parker I've spent the past 6 weeks being bothered by you, I think I'd avoid librarians at all cost from now on." I snort and look at him.
"Like you could resist my handsome charm blue." He rolls his eyes and looks back at his book.
"Oh so handsome."
I pout and turn away. "Guess you wont be getting a library love story then." The smaller boy laughs once more.
"Library love stories don't exist parker, nobody chooses to base a book about two people in a library." I grin.
"So no library love for either of us?" He shakes his head, not taking his eyes off of his book.
"No library love for the either of us."
