I spit out the blood that came into my mouth and smiled. "You hit like a twelve year old school girl." I said and chuckled. Probably made the wrong choice in saying that though because he put me in a headlock that would mean not just passing out but lights out for me. I was gasping for air doing everything in my power to get him off of me but that wasn't working.

My vision started going black until it didn't. Holy fuck! I thought I was dead! I started coughing and getting myself back together when I heard Chandler and someone else scrapping. When I looked up, I saw the other dude was Jensen. He was on top and punched him in the face. "Your momma never taught you not to hit a woman?" He asked but I figured he wasn't gonna get an answer.

One last final good hit to the jaw and he was passed out. But Jensen didn't stop hitting him. As much as I would have loved him not to stop, I knew this was wrong. "Jensen!" I said and ran over to him as he had his hand in the air ready to hit him once more, I stopped him. "Jensen, stop. He's out. No more." I said and he looked at me with a stone cold look but it softened.

He got off of him and looked at me concern written all over his face. "Oh Lord. Claire, are you okay?" He asked and I nodded. Truthfully though, I wasn't I hated seeing that scum bucket turn Jensen into something he's not. Well at least I didn't think he was. "I'll be fine. Let's just go. I have to pack for tomorrow." I said remembering I had to go to Vegas a day early to practice with the band.

"Okay. I-I'm sorry." He said and I shook my head. "Don't be! You saved my life man. Thank you." I said walking to the truck. "Oh, here." I said handing him back his keys. As I placed the keys in his hand, I felt a spark of electricity shoot through me. The fuck? It's probably from the loss of oxygen and I'm imagining things.

We both got into the truck and there was a silence. It was pretty tense actually. But I played it off as nothing until he cleared his throat. "So I was wondering and you don't have to answer if you're too uncomfortable-" He started and I knew what he was going to ask. "My ex boyfriend or fiance really. His name's Chandler." I said and looked down at my hands.

"You were almost gonna marry that douchecake? Why?" He asked and I chuckled. My brother said the same thing when I told him. "I- I don't know. I was stupid and reckless." I said in a whisper. Back then, I was stupid. I was an alcoholic and drug addict. My poison? Cocaine. "That's why you moved here then?" He asked and I nodded, not really being able to think straight.

"I have to make a call. Sorry." I said and pulled out my phone. Dialing my mother's number, I held my breath hoping she could answer it. Once, twice, three times, four. Voicemail. "Fuck!" I yelled and I forgot I was in the car with Jensen. Dialing the number again, I got voicemail. I dialed one more time and I finally got an answer.

"Momma? Thank God." I said relief setting in. "Claire? What's wrong?" She asked and I forgot that there was a huge time difference in Canada. "I'm so sorry to wake you mom. I just had to make sure that you were okay." I said and she sighed. "Yeah, I'm fine sweetheart. But I'm 53 years old, beauty sleep isn't an option anymore." She said and I laughed trying to blink back the tears of happiness.

"Okay, I'll let you go. Sleep well momma. I love you." I said and she hung up after saying her goodbye as well. I turned to Jensen who had a worried look on his face but I smiled at him. "Don't worry. Please, I'm fine! You're fine, and that's all that matters." I said and he shook his head. "Claire, don't take this the wrong way but, I'd like it if you'd stay with me in my house downtown." He said and my mouth dropped open. "I'm sorry, what?" I asked trying to keep my composure.

"I have a guest room. And I don't think it's safe for you to go back to your apartment." He said taking his eyes off the road for a quick second. "Jensen, I appreciate you worrying about me but, I'll be fine. Besides, I have Bruce." I said and his jaw clenched. "Bruce?" He asked and I nodded. "Yup! Bruce the baseball bat." I said and he smiled. "Okay. Then would it be possible if I stayed with you only for your protection? I mean what if he gets into your apartment while you're sleeping?" He said and I smiled at him.

"Fine. But I'm leaving early tomorrow to catch that flight to Nevada." I said and he nodded as he pulled into the parking lot of the complex. "That's fine. I just couldn't- I don't  want you getting hurt." He said and I nodded. I understood completely and I think it's sweet he's doing this. "Well, come on then." I said getting out of the truck and walking up the three flights of stairs to my apartment.

When we got in, I locked the door behind us and plopped down on the couch. "Wanna watch a movie?" I asked and he smiled. "Sure, what do you wanna watch?" He asked and I shrugged as I turned on my Netflix. A scary movie is what I have in mind. So I go to the 'Horror' genre and look through there. "How does 'The Unborn' sound?" I asked and h sat down on the couch raising his eyebrows.

"Sure." He said taking off his jacket leaving only the white dress shirt that showed off his tone arms. "I'm going to change. Make yourself at home and don't start it without me!" I said going to my room mostly to put space between me and Jensen. I know how it sounds but it isn't like that. I could feel my face burning up and I couldn't tear my eyes from him!

I washed my face and put on my usual PJ's. Black spandex and a blue tank top. I put my hair in a bun and walked out of my room and sat down on the couch. "We ready?" I asked turning to a flushed Jensen. "What? Uh- ye-yeah. Let's start this thing." He said stuttering and I let a giggle escape my lips as I pressed play. "Do you mind if I-" Jensen started but I already knew what he meant. "No, go for it!" I said and he laid down but he put his head in my lap.

We were through half of the movie when he looked up at me and smiled. "It's kinda hot. Do you mind if I take this off?" He asked gesturing to his shirt. I wouldn't mind you taking off some more of your clothes. "No, not at all. Go for it." I said and he sat up, and unbuttoned his shirt. Damn, there are no words for how perfect this man is! After he unbuttoned his shirt, he laid it on the coffee table then laid back down on my lap.

I shivered at the skin-to-skin contact. I couldn't watch the movie anymore only him. When a scary part would come, he would tense up but slowly go back to ease. Finally the movie ended and he sat up groaning. "You like the show?" He asked and I tensed up. He smirked at me and I felt my cheeks go red. "Yeah, I love that movie. Seen in a hundred times." Which in fact I have. I watched it a lot with friends when it first came out.

I locked eyes with him and for some reason couldn't look away. He moved closer and smiled at me while doing so. I could feel my heart going wild. It was like it was going to come out of my chest. "You know you don't have to sleep out here." I said and he smiled even wider. As he got closer, my body temperature went through the roof.

Fuck it. I can't take it anymore. I sped up the process of him moving towards me by leaping onto his lap and crashing my lips into his.
