Chapter 2 Edited
Distant footsteps echoed around the room, in the shadows circling me like I was it's prey.
Whatever it was.
At one point I thought I smelt a man's cologne mixed with wood, but I shrugged it off, telling myself it must just be my imagination. Across the room, bright golden eyes glowed among the darkness where the dim ceiling lights didn't manage to reach.
Suddenly, they disappeared.
Slowly, tauntingly, a face came into view from the light now shining above them, the bumps, curves and dips in their face darkened in shadows, yet highlighted from the light above. The nose was firstly visible, perfectly straight, then just above the eyebrows where a scar of some sort lay, soon a chiseled jawline appeared. Dark hair was sprawled messily on top of his head, longer than the sides.
What made my breathing hitch, was when the man opened his eyes, he revealed those amber fired eyes that had been haunting my dreams for years on end.
"Why are you here, hunter?" He said, to which his voice was deep, husky, yet soft. His eyebrows were furrowed, making the amber ores stand out more from the darkness surrounding them.
"That's none of your concern, wolfie." I replied, keeping my arms at my sides, getting ready to attack if need be.
He snickered, and took a step forward, revealing all of him; from his muscled arms crossed over his chest, to the black sneakers on his feet. "I must say, I'm quite impressed." His voice grew more casual, as if he was almost talking to me like we knew each other years before.
Even though he couldn't see me, I frowned. He put his hands behind him, staring to slowly pace the room from one end to the other.
"You did kill some of my best guys, too." He continued, taking a glance at me. I inwardly snickered best guys my ass. "Although, they were more loyal than a hunter."
"And what would you know?" I questioned in an accusing tone, clenching my fists and narrowing my eyes even though he couldn't see.
He suddenly came to a stop in front of me, his flame like eyes glaring at mine, as though he were inspecting my soul. He gave a sadistic smile.
"It's not about what I know; it's about what you don't know." With that said, I felt a sharp pain on the back of my head.
Then everything went black.
. . .
Something cold was pressed against my face; ice cold.
With a quick deep intake of air, my eyes were able to open. My vision was slightly hazy, so I blinked a few times, pushing myself off the floor with a quiet groan. I gasped at the throbbing in my head, making me wonder what happened before everything went dark.
Speaking of which; where am I?
I looked around the room, trying to search for an exit, but all I ended up with was rusting chains attached to a grey wall covered in stains. Looking at my wrists, they were tied with chained shackles.
Hoping that they didn't search me, I moved the clothing covering my wrists one at a time, only to see that the leather and blades had been taken away. Next, I searched my boot, again disappointed with no sign of a metal blade being there.
"Damn it." I cursed, and eventually shuffled my way towards a wall, leaning against it.
Opposite from me stood a large metal door, the bottom edge looked like it was laced with the stain of old blood, a small rectangular hole with two bars at the top which looked slightly rusty and stained like the rest.
