(Holiday Break)

The second Vincent opens the front door I yell, "Guess who hasn't died yet!"

I can smell something delicious wafting from the kitchen, mixed with the normal smell of a candle burning somewhere. Finally home! Dad pops his head from the kitchen entrance. He's got his reading glasses on and an apron covered with flour and something brown.

"There you two are! I was worried you got lost or something." He says, walking back into the kitchen.

"You know we wouldn't since I'm here. And that only happened once!" Vincent states, taking off his scarf and jacket. Dad lets out a booming laugh.

After removing my jacket and shoes, I run over to my room and drop my bag on my bed. Then run back to the living room and head to the back of it. I plop myself on the floor and stare up at the dresser dad renovated into a shrine.

"We're home, mom! Hogwarts is incredible! I think you would've liked it, though I'm pretty sure both dad and big bro told you anything and everything about it." I start.

I can hear a faint 'Mhm.' from dad over the sound of chopping over a cutting board.

"I've met some incredible people there, too! There's Vyla, who's a witty pureblood who's also pretty close to this snotty boy named Draco Malfoy. Do you know the Malfoys, dad?" I call out to him.

"Uhhh... not really. I've heard about them a little, but I've never seen any." He ponders. He drags a chair from the dining room and rests on it, eager to listen on.

"Apparently they're very powerful or something. Not to mention Malfoy's hair looks like he uses bleach instead of shampoo. Anyways, there's a muggle named Jay and he's incredible, he doesn't take anyone's nonsense. It amazes me when people without magic go and throw themselves head first into a castle whose being has only known magic. Also, he has the cutest little fat rat as his familiar!"

"Mmm, yes. You're mom loved mice and rats. She would see one and get all excited and would try to take it home." He says, crossing his arms and smiling. He's enjoying all the memories.

This earns a laugh from Vincent. "Damon and Scarlet would eat it in a heartbeat."

"Yeah they would... Oh yeah! There's these twins who are absolutely mischievous." I excitedly say. This of course makes dad raise an eyebrow.

"A couple clever troublemakers." Vincent says under his breath.

"Oh hush! Hear me out. They're pretty extraordinary and brilliant. Not to mention they're family, the Weasleys, is huge! They've got, I think like, 4 or 5 other siblings. I room with one of them, his name's Percy. He's like a teacher's, alright. And there's one of his younger brothers, his name's Ron. He's a dimwit but he can be funny and I can tell he tries to be caring."

"Seems like an awful rowdy bunch." Dad chuckles.

"They're wonderful. And they all have such vibrant orange hair. Oh yea! Ron's friends, which I guess are mine too. Hermione is another muggle but she's so smart. She's a genius, and she also has a cat. And there's Harry Potter, too."

Hearing the last name perks dad right up.

"The boy who lived! That's incredible. I never found out what happened after Voldemort tried killing him. Didn't think he'd go to Hogwarts with you."

Dad isn't afraid to say Voldemort's name because unlike plenty of others, he doesn't believe he's gonna pop out of nowhere after hearing his name.

"Mhm, he's got a scar and everything now." I turn my head back to mom's picture. ""I think you would've liked everyone."

"Now then! How about some food? I'm sure you two are absolutely starving." He says this in his normal teasing but caring manner.

"I feel myself withering away by the second!" I say, fake groaning as I pretend to drag my feet to the kitchen.
