"May I present to you the first dance of our newly married couple, Denali and Rosé!" The host for the event announced as the newly wedded couple walked to the center of the stage and showed their first dance. It was one of the sweetest and most romantic things Gigi had ever witnessed since she arrived from the city. Watching their friends in their happiest moment together brought a special warmth in her chest and she felt lucky to spend it with someone she deemed special to her too.
Crystal noticed the growing smile on the black-haired woman's face, making her smile at the sight beside her. She reached for the woman's hand and caressed the top of it with her thumb, making Gigi glance at her and offer her a sweet smile in return. If she had to rank every smile she had ever seen, Gigi's was probably the most precious one for her. At that moment, she made a promise to herself, a promise she knew she couldn't keep for long yet still made. She vowed that for the rest of the time she would spend with the model, she would make it the best in order for her to smile as brightly as she did at that moment. She was aware of the impending goodbye the woman would have to make and she had to make the most of it.
The black-haired woman was silently adoring the married couple when she noticed something move from her peripheral vision. She shifted her eyes to her left and saw Crystal's palm up, "May I have this dance?" Gigi let out a soft giggle as she willingly accepted her hand and soon after, they joined other couples slow dancing together with Rosé and Denali.
The red-haired woman had her arms wrapped around Gigi's waist, her palms resting on her lower back as they swayed to the mellow tune played by the pianist. Meanwhile, the taller woman placed her hands on Crystal's shoulder while she rested her cheek on top of one of her hands. She buried her face against the crook of the shorter woman's neck, breathing evenly as they danced. They were both silent, enjoying the sweet moment together and wishing for it to last.
"See? Weddings are fun, right? I knew you'll have a great time here." Gigi stated as she glanced up on Crystal's face before leaving a peck on her jaw.
"Only because you're here with me." The red-haired woman replied, pulling the taller woman closer to her and holding her close. She could feel the smile reappearing again on the black-haired woman's lips, feeling accomplished on making her smile once again.
A few songs after, they were interrupted by the married couple. "Hey love birds, may we bother you for a while?" Rosé asked as she tapped on Gigi's arm.
Crystal jokingly tightened her hold on the taller woman's waist, "But I don't wanna let her go."
"Too bad, I got her now." Rosé replied as they exchanged partners, Gigi walking to the blonde bride and dancing with her while Denali joined the frowning Crystal.
"I'm gonna miss you," The black-haired woman whispered as she swayed away with Rosé. The group of friends laughed as Crystal started dancing with the other bride, Denali.
"Congratulations again on your wedding, Nali." The red-haired woman greeted as she danced to a much livelier beat with her good friend, Denali.
"Thanks a lot. Rosie and I have been waiting for this and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her."
Crystal paused as she looked at her friend, seeing the happy tears forming in the corner of her eyes. "You must really love her that much, huh?"
"Yeah. I really do. Wait, aren't you in love too? You know how it feels." Crystal was surprised at the question, unable to answer the query at first. Her eyes were shifting around the dance floor as she waited for the answer to come to her mind. And there it was, Gigi's eyes staring back at her as she gave her another one of her sweetest smiles, the smile that showed the world how genuine happiness felt like, how lucky she was to even be there right at that moment. A smile formed on the red-haired woman's face, a confirmation of what she truly felt at that point exactly.
