"When I think of love, I think of you..."

It had been hours since Pumpkin was in the surgery room and was finally taken home by Crystal, who couldn't help but feel distressed over her daughter's situation. It was the first time something like that happened to her pet and she wasn't ready for any of it all. She kept herself beside Pumpkin almost at all times, watching over her every tiny movement, wishing she could do anything about her cat's situation.

Silence was enveloping the house as she watched over her cat, until a loud doorbell rang, almost deafening for the red-haired woman after hours of being in almost complete silence. She immediately walked to the door, wiping her face to remove all the stains of the tears she had been crying for hours. Her whole body froze as she saw the sight of the woman she didn't expect to come at all. Gigi was holding a huge duffel bag, her eyes full of concern for the pet she once co-owned. Her eyes couldn't believe to see the woman, who just said how she was miles away from the city, actually came to visit the pet she didn't care enough to stay with. Nonetheless, the appreciation she felt outweighed everything, her feet immediately running to her as she buried her face on her shoulder and finally let out all the tears she didn't know she even had inside.

She cried even more as Gigi pulled her inside and wrapped her into a tight embrace, rubbing her palms on her back to comfort her friend. "Pumpkin is fine, right? She'll be fine, Crys. Believe me."

"It was all my fault, I wasn't looking after her." Crystal let out as she cried even more, tightening her hug on Gigi's waist.

"I told you, this wasn't your fault. It's no one's fault, Crys." The black-haired woman continued to calm her down, bringing her to the living room and sitting her down on the couch.

After a few moments of crying, Crystal pulled away and wiped her face again. She looked at the stylist who was sitting beside her, raising an eyebrow as she examined her seemingly disturbed face. "What are you doing here, Gigi?"

"Are you feeling much better now? How is Pumpkin? Where is she?"

"The surgery went well. The doctor said she'll be fine after a few days. But seriously, why are you here?" The red-haired woman still couldn't believe what she was seeing with her two eyes, the woman who she hadn't had a complete conversation with for a few weeks, not until the call earlier that night about the sick cat. She didn't know how to feel about it, her mind going in different directions especially after seeing the duffel bag she had with her.

"You told me to see her. I couldn't just stay there without seeing Pumpkin." As much as that was a reason, Gigi also knew it was an excuse to escape the suffocating environment she was in a few hours before, with her mom and her fiancée.

"Are you sure? Is that also the reason why your ring is missing from your finger?" What she didn't notice was how the red-haired woman was eyeing her finger, seeing the shiny engagement ring totally gone as soon as she arrived at her place. It made Gigi gulp as the ring felt heavier in her small pant pocket.

"I'm just having it cleaned. I'm here to help you take care of Pumpkin, not to fight with you, Crys."

"Then what about the bag you brought with you?"

"It's not about you."

"Is it about the break Alisha was talking about the other day? Wait, did someone turn back time?" She sarcastically added the last sentence.

The black-haired woman was stunned with Crystal knowing about her break, something that was personal to her and her fiancée only, so she fell silent for a second before asking without looking at the woman next to her in the eye, "Why would she even talk to you about that? What else did you talk about?"
