Crystal woke up the next day and immediately looked at the space beside her only to be left frowning once she realized that it was all fixed and no one was occupying the bed with her. Last night took a different turn for the two of them, her spending another night with the black-haired woman who took care of her when she was feeling unwell. She looked around, expecting a note when she heard Pumpkin's quiet footsteps as the cat strutted inside her room. She left the door open, exposing the view from her kitchen. Someone was definitely occupying her kitchen room and hearing the cooking noises made the red-haired woman smile from ear to ear.
The smell of something cooking seeped through her room, freshly made pancakes and the sweet scent of fruit surrounded the atmosphere. For once, her new house felt like a comforting home as she finally had some decent breakfast after those previous months. It was pretty early yet Crystal already felt more awake as her nose captured the aroma of brewed coffee done by the black-haired woman.
"What's cooking?" She asked even though she already knew what it was based on the smell. Crystal had the urge to stand behind Gigi for a second and rest her chin on her shoulder but she fought over it, walking to the countertop instead and jumping up to take a seat on an empty space near the stove.
"Who said this is for you?" Gigi responded, glancing at the red-haired woman who had a frown on her face. It made her giggle whilst she shook her head. "Obviously not your favourite breakfast at all. Anyway, how are you feeling now? Feeling better?"
"Yeah. Thanks for taking care of me last night," she offered a small smile to the woman cooking her breakfast which Gigi gladly returned. "The soup you made definitely made me feel much better."
"Of course it would because I'm the one who made it."
Crystal rolled her eyes at the comment, making the other one laugh as she focused on cooking. "I didn't wanna wake you up last night and offer you the guest room. Sorry you had to sleep on my tiny bed."
"Hey, that's not a problem at all. I finally had a peaceful sleep." The red-haired woman noticed Gigi whispering the last few words of her statement and contemplated whether to ask her about it. Sleepless nights... would it be possible that there was a problem at her own home? She wanted to know but seeing the smile on the taller woman made her reject the thought, not wanting to see that smile on her face fade away.
The two spent the early dawn eating their breakfast, sharing a few stories about their lives and how Pumpkin was doing as she adjusted to the new place. They also had a talk about the couple they visited that weekend, Gigi asking the red-haired woman how the two were doing ever since she last saw them. It was a rather peaceful breakfast, an improvement from all the bickering and tension they've had against each other during the past couple of months.
Gigi was done taking a shower when she saw Crystal by her vanity table, putting on some makeup as they both prepared for work. The other woman saw the stylist walking towards her with only a towel on, making herself gulp before focusing her attention on the reflection of her bed. "I put out some clothes for you. I kept some of your old garments... just in case."
The taller woman mentioned during their breakfast that she wanted to borrow some fresh clothes from the photographer for another work day as she wasn't able to grab some before she spent the night over the red-haired woman's place. She didn't even trust Alisha to even be at home during that time and so she decided not to call her and ask for clothes.
"Thanks." She looked at the clothes that Crystal prepared for her, letting out a soft chuckle as she showed her the animal-print top that the photographer lent her. "Are we sure about this one?"
