The Promise

The sun shone against the sheer-curtained windows in Crystal's bedroom, the sunlight beaming against her face. It gradually woke her up, her face immediately lighting up as she saw the figure of the woman sleeping next to her. It was the first night the woman she met during one of her freelance jobs and went on a few dates stayed over her place, creating what she thought would be beautiful memories together.

She carefully hopped off of her bed and walked to the door, glancing back to watch her one more time, the smile on her face still painted as she walked to her kitchen and made some breakfast. Crystal went with her instincts and created some strawberry waffles, her mind curious whether the black-haired model would like to have breakfast with her or would rather prefer to leave as soon as she woke up.

A pair of long arms broke the red-haired woman's train of thoughts as Gigi wrapped her waist in a back hug, burying her face on Crystal's shoulder while yawning. It made the red-haired woman laugh, caressing Gigi's hand with her free hand as she used the other one to clean some fruits she was preparing for breakfast. "Still sleepy? Go sleep some more, then."

"But I have no one to cuddle with," the woman whined, tightening her hug on Crystal's waist.

"Pumpkin's a great cuddle buddy. Wait, where is she?"

"Oh, Pumpkin! I wanna meet her." The smile on Crystal's face immediately turned upside down as soon as the model released her from the hug, walking around the place to look for the cat.

"Hey, where are you?!" The red-haired woman asked with a loud voice as she walked around the house, holding a tray of food for their breakfast. Ever since Gigi left her for the cat, she hadn't come back, assuming that she had been playing with her cat all along.

"I'm out here!" She heard her voice coming from the porch, a smile escaping her lips as she walked to where she was. The porch was one of her favourite places in her house as it had a beautiful view of the peaceful street outside, now with one of the most beautiful people she had ever met.

As she stepped outside, she saw the black-haired woman playing with Pumpkin, the furry pet snuggling on the woman's lap as she ran her fingers through her fur. The scene made Crystal smile even more, glad that her pet already was comfortable with this new stranger she just met.

"Crys, she loves me." Gigi announced as she watched Crystal put down their breakfast on the small table, arranging them neatly.

"Surprising, actually. She doesn't easily play with strangers but I'm glad she likes you." As she sat down beside Gigi, she grabbed her plate and helped her slice her waffles whilst the woman continued playing with the pet. "Hey, you have to start eating..."

"But I wanna play with her." Crystal rolled her eyes before slicing a small piece for Gigi, poking it with a fork before putting it close to her lips. The model let out a soft chuckle before letting the red-haired woman feed her. "Thanks."

"Sure," That continued for almost the whole meal, just Crystal willingly feeding the black-haired woman who was playing with her pet, randomly rolling her eyes and shaking her head at the childish gesture. There was one time she jokingly poked the tip of Gigi's nose and left a small dot of whipped cream on her face, making the other one glare at her and take revenge by swiping a finger-full of cream on the other person's cheek.

While eating, Crystal would glance at her date from time to time, her mind considering whether it was the right time to ask a question she had been meaning to ask her or it would just ruin the jolly mood. However, she really wanted to know so she took a deep breath whilst she focused her eyes on her plate. "I wanna know where this is going."
