It was Storm who noticed the house ripping itself out of the ground first, Lunar turned as she let out a shout to warn them and felt Logan’s claws sink deep into her shoulder blades. She howled in pain but was cut off as she was kicked in the ribs, Logan walked passed her and ran towards the house, she was pleased to see no one tried to stop him. Of course the main reason for that could have been because of the small fact they were all mesmerized by the house floating, soon after the screams began, a single voice, Lunar recognized it as Magneto’s. Seconds later the house crashed back to the ruined yard below, nothing moved inside, and no one excluding Logan made any move to go inside and see what happened.

“Phantom, can you stand?” Cyclops asked as he walked over, Storm following close behind.

“Of course I can.” Lunar replied as she got to her paws, trying to hide her flinch as pain shot through her. “Do you think we should go in?”

“Yes, but stick together. We don’t know what happened.”

They made their way inside with Magneto’s mutants staring after them uncertainly before deciding to stay put, Lunar understood, and who knew, maybe they were the smart ones. The inside of the house was a wreck, broken furniture and objects were scattered everywhere while some walls had large cracks in them. Cyclops led them forward slowly as he looked around for anyone but it wasn’t until they got into the ruined kitchen that they found someone… Magneto. He was staring through two broken wood doors at and empty wheelchair that was seated across from Jean, Lunar couldn’t go into his mind with the helmet on but she didn’t have to, the scene in front of them explained everything.

“Charles is gone…” Magneto whispered, almost to himself.

“Jean, it’s okay.” Logan came in from a different hallway and helped her to her feet. “Come on I can help you.”

“Logan, leave her alone.” Storm ordered. “She killed the Professor.”

“Don’t listen to them, let’s go someplace safer.”

“Logan?” Jean glanced around at the mess as if confused.

Magneto got his senses back. “Jean, come with me. You know I can help you. The others will only try to control you like Charles did.”

Jean’s face took on an indecisive look as she turned from Logan to Magneto.  Logan took her hand. “Jean, come on. You know he’s no good. He just wants to use your mutation.”

“And what exactly do you want?” Cyclops snapped. “Jean, come back to us. We’re your friends.”

“I-I…” Jean continued to glance between them in confusion before walking slowly over to Magneto.

“Jean…?” Logan held his hand out as if trying to beckon her back to his side.

Magneto grinned. “Perhaps she doesn’t trust an unpredictable animal.”

“You deserve to be alone.” Lunar mocked Logan, and if she had been in human form there would have been a smirk on her face.

“Logan, come with me.” Jean suggested as she took Logan’s hand.

“Jean… Magnet Man and I don’t exactly get along.” He told her, ignoring the look Magneto gave him.

            “Please…”

They all waited for Logan’s response in a tense silence, Lunar could hear Cyclops’ thoughts flitting around in his mind about the situation, while Storm and Magneto’s were calmer… waiting. Finally though Logan sucked in a deep breath and walked to Magneto and Jean’s side.

“Anywhere you go.” He told her, though there was a trace of uncertainty in his eyes.

“You’re both traitors.” Storm accused as they left.

Magneto gave a small huff as a laugh. “You know, to some you people are the monsters not I.”

Lunar turned human after they left and turned towards them. “What do we do now? The Professor is gone, and we just lost two powerful mutants.”

“We give the Professor a funeral… I don’t know what to do next.” Scott replied as he walked over to the wheelchair.

“Come on, let’s go get the jet ready for take off.” Storm suggested as she glanced back at their team leader.

Lunar knew that wasn’t the only reason though, a look into Storm’s mind confirmed the fact: she just wanted to give him a bit of time to grieve and process everything that had just happened in peace. Lunar didn’t blame her for not saying that out loud though after all, Scott would have heard and he didn’t seem to be the type to want to show weakness even among friends. So, she followed Storm outside and waited in the jet until their leader was ready to join them.
