Lunar got off the jet and turned into her wolf form before starting to walk into the pine forest in front of her. "I'll see you soon guys."
Just don't be too reckless. Cyclops thought back as the jet took off.
She rolled her eyes and stealthily crept through the tree trunks; in the distance she could hear a large crowd of mutants talking. Ferns brushed past her, the occasional dew that hadn't evaporated in the sun made her black fur damp. Eventually she made it to the edge of camp where mutants milled around tents talking or showing off their mutations to those around them. In all honesty the scene wouldn't have looked too hostile if they weren't an army led by Magneto and about attack innocent people. She continued skirting the edge for any signs of Logan or Jean but couldn't sense their minds either; in fact, it was hard for her to sense any of the mutants' minds. She could bet Jean was at least weakly blocking everyone's so she couldn't figure out their plans, but that would mean they knew she was here. An uneasy feeling settled inside her and she caught Logan's scent too late as the heavy mutant fell down on her from above.
"Look who showed up, did you come to surrender your life?" Wolverine snarled as Lunar thrashed under him.
Lunar growled back before shaking herself violently and throwing him into a tree. "You hate Magneto, why help him? Why trying killing us after everything you and the X-men had been through? They trusted you!"
"Don't lecture me!" He snapped and slid out his claws. "You aren't even a true X-men, they will never forget what you have done to them and people."
"What about what you're going to do to people?" She countered and began circling him. "And just so you can have Jean."
She leapt at him, locking her jaws around his throat, before feeling his claws puncture into her sides. She pulled her head back, ripping a large gash in Wolverine's throat, before sinking to the ground. The sounds of their fighting had attracted more mutants and Lunar could recognize the others they had met at Jean's house along with Magneto and Jean herself. Lunar glared at them before getting back to her paws and snapping at Wolverine again, this time missing as he slashed at her neck. She backed off a bit as fury began to over take her reasoning.
"They tamed you." Magneto spoke up from the crowd. "Join the Brotherhood Phantom, we will never hold you back from true potential."
I will not become a killer again! Lunar let out a loud growl the echoed in the air and left her chest vibrating. Never again! I will not kill innocent people or mutants!
"Wolverine." Magneto sighed and motioned for the clawed mutant to finish the fight.
Lunar dodged his swipes and gave a bark like growl before feinting a bite at him and jumping away again. Wolverine glared at her and lunged forward again only to meet her half way, sending both of them to the ground. She felt her claws tear his skin, which healed just as fast as she wounded him, before plunging her sharp teeth into his throat until she felt the metal bone in his neck. Lunar gave a muffled growl of satisfaction before violently shaking her head from side to side before releasing Logan and watching him slam into a pine tree. She howled a challenge to him as he got back up.
You on the other hand I won't mind killing.
"Many people have tried, no one will succeed." Wolverine snapped before charging forward and punching her in the jaw while letting him claws come back out again.
She grunted as she collapsed to the ground before yelping as he smoothly slid his claws into the base of her neck and Lunar felt herself fall into unconsciousness, all of the fight she had in her disappearing. The last thing she could make out was Logan and Jean dragging her farther into the enemy camp on Magneto's command. It seemed Scott had been right. She should have brought backup. Now she might never see him or any of the others again... though they could possibly find her... dead.
"Bind her well." Magneto ordered as he looked at Lunar's limp form on the ground. "Make sure she can't escape."
"Yeah, I got it." Logan waved the old mutant off and took a chain Jean had brought to him before wrapping it tightly around Lunar's neck and wrapping it around the tree.
While he was doing that Jean worked on tying Lunar's large paws as she blocked all telepathic communication she may use in this area to find help. "She could still bite. Eric should just let us kill her."
"I agree, and we will later, but for now we must listen to him." Logan promised, holding Jean close to his body. "As for making sure she can't bite... get me a knife or something sharp."
He looked back down at Lunar, who was starting to wake up after healing, before hearing Jean return. Logan took the dagger from her and leaned down, raising his arm back to gain momentum before bringing the knife down through Lunar's jaws and deep into the ground. Blood welled up around the wound and Lunar opened her golden eyes to reveal a murderous glare before she whimpered when she found how completely helpless she now was.
"That's right Wolfe." Logan mocked. "You lost. And when the time comes, I'll skin your pelt and use it as a nice trophy to show off my win."
Jean smiled darkly at him as he said that before pulling him away. "Come on Logan... We can talk of finishing her later. Magneto will be wondering what is taking us so long."
"Fine." He replied, relaxing at her touch as he followed her back into the maze of tents.
