I told Jacob the address of my friend, a couple of meters away from me and my sisters' house.
I don't want to invite him in and I don't want my sisters to think I am leading him on.
I also don't intend to be close to him as I am avoiding being linked to him.
I know how much Alexa likes him and it's not part of my plan to be helped by him.
"Thanks for the ride." I said and he handed me my bag.
Jacob gave the house one last glance before he let me go and open his car's door.
I smiled and went out of his car with a bag in my hand.
I noticed the lights in Czarina's house and I know that she has already received my SOS awhile ago.
Czarina has been my friend since High School.
I have contented myself with just one to two friends who are trustworthy and reliable than have many who aren't true.
Czarina Feldman is a daughter of a neurosurgeon and a patisserie chef.
It's no wonder how she is the princess of their mansion.
With her older sister living her own life away from them, she is a no-doubt, effortless heiress of this majestic mansion.
Tita Clarita has known me since then and she was my mom's bestfriend too.
She treated me and my sisters as her own.
We are very close to her and we are now honorary members of their family.
"Sissums! The who ang boylet na yon?" Czarina exclaimed to me as she ran downstairs to hug me.
I rolled my eyes and hugged her back.
"Bruha ka! Ang init mo, nakuha mo pang lumandi! You're burning! Buti pinayagan ka ng mga kapatid mong pumasok niyan?" Czarina bombarded me with questions and asked for their helpers to prepare the guestroom for me.
Czarina led me to their couch and I sighed.
"Lagnat lang to, sis. Lagnat laki. Hindi na nila kailangang malaman pa." I said in my defense.
Czarina raised an eyebrow at me.
"Beats me. The last time I heard you say that was when you got confined in a hospital after a couple of hours."I smiled sheepishly and closed my eyes.
The paracetamol may have taken its effect earlier but my fever isn't really going down.
I felt cold face towel touching my neck and face and I tried to open my eyes and almost gasped when I saw my mom.
My dead mom.
But when she smiled, I knew I was just hallucinating.
It was Tita Clarita and her motherly instincts are talking to me again.
"Come on, guys. Help me to get her to the room. She's unwell." I heard Tita Clarita ordered her men and I let them carry me.
I was too tired to argue.
I was too beat to complain.
Soon, I felt the soft mattress beneath me and the comforter tugged up underneath my chin.
"Goodnight, Amara. I'll check up on you later." Tita Clarita whispered to me and kissed my forehead before I succumbed to sleep.
Every four hours, Tita Clarita took care of me and made me take my medicines and check on my temperature.
When my temp was on and off the next day, she called up on their family doctor and called one of my sisters.
I was diagnosed with UTI that morning and I was bombarded again with sermons from Tita Clar, Cza and Amaris.
I just nodded in agreement and promised to take care of myself more.
The doctor gave me his Rx and Cza was quick to instruct one of their drivers to run to the pharmacy to buy me the necessary medicines.
I have to text Duchess and Alexa that I was advised to rest for three days and will present an excuse letter to our Profs the soonest that I return.
Tita Clari let me go but made me promise to update her about my health status.
I nodded and thanked them both.
Amaris grabbed my things and we were let go only when we allowed Tita Clari have their driver drove us to our home.
"Ang swerte naten kay Tita Clari, no? I wished mom was here with us. Namimiss ko sya lalo." Amaris sighed and leaned on the car window.
Me too, Amaris. How I wish she was here to take care of us.
