After what happened in the past two weeks, I made myself busy and applied as a crew in a famous fastfood chain. Every day, I work six hours from ten in the morning to five in the afternoon. I get to earn around 500 a day for six hours.
I spent my two month vacation as a busgirl, cashier and as a waiter. It was indeed a productive summer vacation as I was able to save up for myself and to kill time away.
Second Year of College came and me and my friends began to grow apart as we were placed in different sections. I was in 2Psy01-A while Duchess was in 2Psy01-B and Alexa in 2Psy01-C. It was pretty new to me but since we also barely talk ever since Alexa started dating Jacob and news about them travelled fast, I was able to get used to it and started to make new friends.
This time, I contented myself with just one friend. And her name is Ivory Hortaleza.
Ivory is a simple girl whose passion was music and books. She was a lot like me in ways which I, myself, couldn't believe that I have found a soulmate in her.
Don't take this the wrong way. I was grateful that I met both Duchess and Alexa. But things happened and yeah. We barely had the chance to actually catch up. Or no one dared to do so.
Me and Ivory were the best of friends. I decided to be true to her and introduced her to my sisters. Yes, she knew and got along well with Amaris and Amira.
Things became daunting both in the university and in real life. The usual deadlines and reports dragged us in many ways possible.
About Amira, I accompanied her at the Dean's office and filed for her student leave. She also volunteered to talk with the guidance counselor to ease her anxieties which the former accommodated instantly.
Amira's student leave got approved after a week and she was asked to meet with the Dean for some private talks which I didn't dare to tag along.
Thankfully, they were understanding enough to assist her educational concerns after she gave birth next year.
Me and Amaris also regularly accompany Amira to her pre-natal checkups and would automatically come to her aid if she has cravings in the middle of the night.
It has also become my summer routine to apply again as a fastfood crew and I was extremely grateful that they accepted me again. The store manager even joked with me to become a regular staff since I was hardworking and committed to my tasks.
During the school year, I am a regular student and a student assistant at the library. I never complained since I get to earn enough money to buy my own things and pay the bills.
Before I knew it, we have entered our junior year with even harder majors. We were finally about to slowly stepped into the reality. Into the real world.
It just so happened that Amira also gave birth to a bouncing baby boy last May 25. She named him Dwight Aaron and we all just couldn't help but adore him.
Dwight has indeed brought colors into our lives when he was brought to this world. Me and Amaris are always excited to come home.
Luckily, Amira was able to eventually adjust to motherhood and I just can't help but admire her strength.
Me and Ivory are still grateful as we also are classmates again this year. We both need all the support that we can get.
It was all okay and everything was going smoothly until I saw him again during the vacation before our senior year.
Yes, I know that we are in the same university and it is completely impossible not to cross paths with him. But with everything that has been going on, I totally forgot what it feels like to see him again.
And at that time, when our eyes met, I knew that whatever I used to feel with him is no longer there.
"Yes, Sir." I began looking at him directly in his eyes. "May I take your order, please?"
