"I have the soul of a dragon, because I care for people. Dragons are... amazing, intelligent creatures. I'm sorry, about what happened. But, Berk is proof that dragons can be good. Dragons are incredibly caring creatures. Please, just, let me show you." He said, outstretching his arm to her, through the bars of the call. She looked at his hand, every signal in her body tell her not to take it. Yet, his face looked so genuine. His dragon, who you'd mistreated terribly in the past, did not look at you with hatred, bloodlust, and rage, but with large pupils full of curiosity, who's eyes matched his riders. Who's eyes matched his friend.
She slowly stood up from her corner, and approached him. She stared at his hand, and glanced up at his face, as he gave a gentle smile. She felt something she'd never felt before. She felt safe. She trusted him. She placed her hand in his, and it was warm. The signals were not as loud as they were before, as he held your hand gently. Her hand felt cold as he drew away slowly, fetching the keys to your cell off the table. You felt anticipation swirling in your stomach, as he drew closer. But he didn't unlock the cell. "Listen," He began. "I'm putting my trust in you. I don't know how much trust you experienced in Ameraeli, but trust is everything around here." He said, fiddling with the keys. She nodded quickly, to say she understood. All she wanted was out of this cell. "Give me your hand again. I need to know I can trust you." He said. She slowly gave him her hand, avoiding his gaze. It felt a bit too intimate for her liking, but she truly needed out of this cage. Finally, he unlocked the cage, and she slowly walked out. She looked around, looking at the other cells, which contained no people. She gazed at everything in awe, but tried to conceal it. She didn't know why she felt this way, but she felt... different. It was as if just talking about it was all it took for her to become a slightly better version of herself. Hiccup just watched as she stared at everything, flinching at the sounds of dragons roaring. He laughed as you crouched a bit, ready to draw your knife. "Yea, that'll definitely take a bit of getting used to." He said, sticking his hand out, as if he were asking for the knife. She looked mortified at the idea of having no protection, in the case of a dragon, but she complied eventually. They walked to the end of the prison like area, and (Y/N) shielded her eyes at the blinding light. Hiccup swore she almost had a heart attack when she saw all the dragons. "How.. How are they all just..?" She trailed off, unable to even finish her sentence. Hiccup laughed "I know.. It's amazing, isn't it?" He asked. She gulped, not finding the ability to answer. "Come on, let's go formally meet the rest of the gang." He said, ushering you along. Your heart raced at the thought of it, and you dug your heels into the ground, making Hiccup laugh once again. "Hey, what's so funny, Haddock?" She asked through her teeth. "Nothing, I guess I just wasn't expecting you to be a ball of anxiety and nerves underneath that murderous bloodthirsty cloak." He said. She sighed, and finally began walking. It was basically silent on the way to the Great Hall. At least, silent on (Y/N)'s end. Hiccup talked a lot, and although it wasn't as annoying as it was when she was holding a grudge, it still took a lot to not lash out at him. You trailed closely behind Hiccup as he made his way to a bench where a few people were sitting. "Hey guys! I brought a friend along today, I hope you don't mind." He said. Your stomach twisted a bit at the word friend. You haven't had a friend in YEARS. It was weird. "Of course not! Who is it?" Astrid responded. "You guys are either gonna love or hate this one." He replied. He stepped aside to reveal her, but.. she wasn't there. He kept trying to step side by side, but she moved with him, too scared to face them. She wasn't used to being this scared, or being a nice either. Hiccup sighed, and turned around to face her. "You're gonna have to face them eventually so come on." He insisted. She shook her head, and he rolled his eyes. He grabbed her by the shoulders, and placed you in front of him. The group collectively gasped, and Fishlegs dropped his spoon into his bowl. You jumped at the sudden reaction, unsure what to do. "Hiccup.. this is a joke, right?" Ruffnut asked, staring at you. Hiccup felt you shaking a bit, and he laughed. "Don't worry. It's like she's a whole different person. It's crazy what a Hiccup talk can do." He joked. The others laughed a bit, along with you, which made them stop immediately. "So, uh.. anyways." Hiccup said, clapping his hands together. He guided you to a spot, and sat you down between him and Astrid, much to her dismay. Not only was she afraid of you, but she wasn't used to another girl being so close with Hiccup. "Gang, new and improved (Y/N). (Y/N), this is Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and the twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut." He said, pointing at each person respectively. (Y/N) gave a nod in the direction of each. The group gave her an awkward smile, but generally tried to avoid her gaze. She stuck her head down, until Hiccup offered her a bread roll. She looked up at him with a questioning stare, and he smiled. She took it slowly from his hand and took a bite out of it, smiling. The group made some small talk, awkward about the bloodthirsty killer in their midst, before Fishlegs finally stood up. "Well, I should uh, go clean the stables now." He said, leaning away from the table, and heading out the door. The twins cleared their throats. "Yea, we have lots of people to bother. Later losers." Tuffnut said, Ruffnut laughing, following Tuffnut out of the Great Hall. It was then Astrid who left, not saying a word as she did. Then, there was Hiccup, (Y/N), and Snotlout, who was absent-mindedly digging his blade into the table. "So, does she have a place to sleep?" Snotlout asked, not looking up from his blade. Hiccup looked at her and shrugged. "Being 100% honest, I don't think anyone trusts her enough to have her out during the night. I'm sorry, but I think you'll have to sleep in the cell." He said, looking at her sorrowfully. Her face grimaced, but she nodded her head. Hiccup got up to bring his bowl to the counter, when Snotlout stabbed his knife into the table, and leaned over into (Y/N)'s face. "Listen, kid." He spat out. She just stared at him, a lazy smile at his attempt to be intimidating. "You may be a killer, but you're on OUR island now. You have to do what we say. You may the most ruthless, fearful viking. But you're no match for all of Berk, and our dragons." He said. She pushed herself up from the table, and grabbed Snotlout roughly by the chin. He tried to push her away, but like she did to Hiccup, she grabbed both of his wrists, her grip strong enough to break if he moved wrong. "Don't get too far ahead of yourself, kid," She said, the crazed look back in her eyes. "Don't forget where I came from. I could kill you right now." If I wanted to. She threw him back into his chair, him falling, and she walked over to Hiccup. She walked up behind him, turned to Snotlout and shot him a cruel grin, reaching for her knife, and placing it barely against the small of his back. "Hiccup, watch out!" Snotlout shouted, causing Hiccup to spin around. He was taken aback by how close she was to him, but quickly became defensive, seeing the knife. (Y/N), what are you doing?" He asked cautiously. She shrugged. "I just figured, you can't have an armed prisoner. It's not safe." She said, gesturing her knife out to him. He smiled awkwardly, nervously taking the knife from his hand, and slipping it in a holster. "Right, of course. Lets uh, get you back to your cell." He said, casting a nervous glance at Snotlout, who's jaw hung open. She made a slicing motion across her neck at him with her finger, and she smiled.

Once Hiccup and (Y/N) arrived to her cell, she leaned against the wall and watched as Hiccup fumbled with the keys to open it for her. "Having a bit of trouble, chief?" She asked sarcastically. He laughed nervously, her presence taunting him. He knew he had her knife, but who knows what she's capable of without it. He exhaled deeply as he finally got the cell door open, and he turned to her, staring in anticipation. "Do I really have to spend the nights in here?" She asked. He nodded. "We just can't take any chances." He said. She rolled her eyes, and trudged back into the cell, sitting down in the middle. "Can I at least have a blanket?" She asked. He stuttered out what sounded like an apology, and headed back to his house to get a blanket for the young girl. When he was out of sight, she quickly removed a piece of the wall, revealing a sheet of paper, and a pencil she'd been writing on, planning to somehow get it to her island.

Listen, Brutus. I've been captured by a Berk viking. The chief specifically, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. I need you to get me out of here. The island is about a weeks trip by boat west from our island. I'm going insane here. The chief just does not stop talking, and I can't just kill them in broad daylight. I'm strong, but there's too many people here for me to take on alone. I ne"

It read thus far, unfinished. She twisted the pencil in her hand, before continuing.

"ed you to get a ship out here, with a few vikings. I can do most of the work on my own, but I'll need backup. I need you here in two months. We'd be able to take out all of Berk, AND their dragons if we execute this prope"

She was startled by the sound of Hiccup opening the door. She rolled up the paper, and tossed it back into the hole with the pencil, covering it back up. He approached her cell, and opened it, passing her a blanket. "Wow, you're so kind chief, thank you." She said. He laughed. "I would stay for a bit, but Thor knows you hate how much I talk so I'll leave you be." He said, turning his back. She hummed, before she spoke. "No, I think I'd like to hear you talk tonight." She said. He turned around, the corners of his lips upturned as he sat down in front of her cell. "Oh really?" He asked. She snorted. "I guess I had a change of heart. It get's lonely in here sometimes when you're not around." She said, making Hiccup chuckle. "You? (Y/N)? Had a change of heart? Wow, I am better than I thought." He said. She scoffed. "Don't get too ahead of yourself." She replied, not looking at him. "So, what do you want to hear about?" He asked. She stared pensively at the wall across from her, particularly in the spot where she hid the letter. Suddenly, it clicked in her head. She turned her body to face him, still keeping a relatively big distance between the two of them. A wide grin spread across her face. "Tell me about the dragons."
