(Y/N) woke up a few hours later. Her eyes fluttered as she rolled over in.. a bed? She didn't remember being in a bed.. She was too tired to care though. Her body was absolutely exhausted, and she just wanted to go back to sleep. But she opened her eyes anyways after hearing a conversation. She looked around, and saw she was in a room she didn't recognize. She propped herself up on her elbows with a groan of pain, and looked around. "Hiccup?" She said, her voice scratchy. He turned his head to look at her, and laughed, the sound definitely not belonging to Hiccup. "Definitely not. I'm the best you got right now. He's downstairs, waiting for you to wake up." The man said. She squinted his eyes, trying to exam his face. Her blood ran cold when she recognized him. "Snotlout.." She breathed out. He smiled a toothy grin. "That's me!" He exclaimed. She smiled shyly and looked away. "I, uh.. I'm sorry, for what happened in the Great Hall. I wasn't myself that day. Or, well, I guess I WAS myself, just.. not the good one." She rambled. He shook his head and waved his hand. "It's all good. To be fair, I wasn't being the nicest either." He said. "Wow, is Snotlout ACTUALLY forgiving someone? Genuinely?" Another voice chimed it. "Yeah, wow, I think (Y/N) just helped rewrite history." Another added. (Y/N) looked behind Snotlout, and saw Astrid, Ruffnut and Tuffnut standing in the doorway, Fishlegs standing silently behind them. (Y/N) laughed at their antics, as Snotlout argued with them. She winced as she felt a stabbing pain in her side. She instinctively grabbed the source of pain, and felt a bandage through her shirt. She took a deep breath, and lifted it, revealing the giant hash that had been patched. "Yea, that's gonna leave a scar." She said, fake enthusiasm leaking out, causing the group to laugh. She smiled at the young adults, thankful they finally didn't hate her. She suddenly remembered what Snotlout said. "Oh, uh.. Can I go see Hiccup?" She asked shyly, avoiding Astrid's gaze, afraid that maybe she was mad at her. "Of course. Let me help you down there." Astrid offered, walking towards her. She grew nervous as she approached, but she smiled, and reached out a hand. She took it gratefully, and Astrid helped her up, putting her arm around her neck. The others cleared a path for them, and she smiled at them. Astrid and (Y/N) made their way down the hall, and down the stairs. Once they reached the bottom, Astrid asked, "Are you good to walk on your own?", to which she nodded. She thanked her quietly one last time, and limped over to the couch that Hiccup sat on. He turned his head, and stood up once he saw her. "Hi.." He breathed out. She smiled. "Hi, Hiccup." She said softly. He was at a loss for words as she stared at her. She was bruised, a bit bloody still, she had a limp in her step, and was wounded. But she was still beautiful. "Oh! Here, let me help." He said, rushing over, pulling one of her arms behind his neck, and he gently snaked his arm around her waist for extra support, being careful not to hurt her. They walked over to the couch, and they sat down in front of the fire. They just sat in a comfortable silence for a bit, before Hiccup glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, seeing her staring into the fire. "It's kinda funny." She said. "What's funny?" "The fact that.. I just helped take out 5 of my islands ships... With what Brutus said, contained the best vikings Ameraeli Isle had to offer. It's just kind of insane." She said, a faint smile on her face. Hiccup nodded. "I definitely bet you didn't expect to be doing that one day." He said jokingly, making her laugh. Gods, he loved her laugh. Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and the twins watched quietly from the top of the stairs as the two just enjoyed each other's presence. Eventually, (Y/N) leaned into Hiccup's side, causing him to flinch a bit. She'd never allowed him so close to her before, but here she was, being the one to get close to him. He smiled, and wrapped an arm around her waist carefully. Pulling her closer. (Y/N) was happy, despite how strange it felt, but she liked it. But she felt like something was missing. She pulled away from Hiccup, and turned her head to face him. He turned, and his eyes met hers. "Uh, are you okay?" He asked, worried maybe he'd crossed some boundary. (Y/N) wasn't entirely sure what she was doing, but she knew that she just needed to do something. So, she did. She reached out a shaky hand in an attempt to copy what he'd done Thor knows how long ago, cupping Hiccup's jaw. His breath caught in his throat, as he sat there, waiting to see what she'd do. She opened her mouth slightly to say something, but she could find the words. She canned his face, taking in all of his features. His emerald green eyes, his large pupils, the freckles that were just barely there. Evidently, they'd been much bolder in his younger years. Her eyes fell onto his lips, lingering maybe a bit too long. She felt a pull, not literally, but she felt like she just needed him as close to her as possible. She examined the faint scar on his chin, tracing it lightly with her thumb. Hiccup just stared as she did this, doing the same thing she was doing. Her (E/C) eyes, her (H/L) (H/C) hair, her thick lips. He reached up his opposite hand to push a hair out of her face and tuck it behind her ear, his hand tracing from her ear down her jaw, cupping her cheek, and caressing it gently with his thumb, as she leaned into his touch, closing her eyes for a moment. When she opened them, her eyes immediately met with his. His eyes flickered down to her lips, as hers did the same. "Can I..?" He asked quietly, barely above a whisper. "Please.." She said, pulling his face to hers. Their lips met, and the young adults at the top of the stairs celebrated quietly, screaming internally. Hiccup could taste the salty tears that streamed down (Y/N)'s face on her lips, and Hiccups hand moved from her cheek to the back of her head to gently play with her hair. Hiccup could feel her shaking with anxiety, and pulled away, her lips chasing his for a brief moment. He took her hand in his in a reassuring manner. "It's okay." He said reassuringly, playing with her hair. She smiled at him, and pulled his face back in for another kiss, this one shorter than the last, but just as passionate. They pulled away, and hiccup rested his forehead against hers, and moved his hand from within her hair to the back of her head, gently pressing their heads together. And they just stayed like that for a few moments. "Hiccup.." She said, nervously. He hummed, and she took a breath. "I.." She began, her body shaking once again. He pulled away from her and cupped her face with both his hands, smiling reassuringly. "Hey, hey, it's alright. Take your time. Don't stress yourself out too much." He said, laughing a bit at the end. She laughed a shaky laugh as well. She wanted to tell him she loved him. So bad. She knew she loved him, but it was hard. She was afraid that, just maybe she was going too fast. Maybe he didn't LOVE her back. She'd never said the words 'I love you' to someone in her life, and it was nerve wracking. Her eyes fell to her hands, that rested in her lap. She looked up and finally met his eyes, not fighting the smile that crept up onto her face. "Hiccup.. I love you." She finally said. He stared at her, and she gulped. "I knew I loved you, since Eret and I talked. I loved you before then, but I didn't know what it was. I didn't know what it meant to truly love something. To truly love someone. Hiccup, you showed me love. And I will never be able to thank you enough." She confessed, her voice shaking. Hiccup was at a complete loss for words. Of course he loved you back, it just felt all too much like a dream. "Are- Are you gonna say something? Or are you just gonna stare at me?" She asked tensely. He smiled, thinking back to their second interaction. He pushed a stray hair out of her face. "I don't know, you are kinda pretty." He said. Her eyebrows furrowed, before she caught on. "Oh gods.." She said, cringing as her face fell into her hands. He laughed and pulled her in for a hug. "I love you too. So much. I began loving you as I started spending more time with you, getting to know and understand you. But I knew I loved you when you flew back on Miroh, after you handled her so carefully, despite how scared you were. I didn't teach you what love was. You already knew what it was. I guess I was just lucky enough to be the one you decided to let yourself love." He finished, playing with her hair. "And.." He added. "You can thank me by being my girlfriend." He finished. Her eyes widened, and she pulled away from his touch. "R-Really?" She asked. He smiled, and nodded. She threw her arms around his neck in a hug, and he laughed as he fell back onto the couch. He wrapped his arms around her waist gently, pulling her closer to him. She propped herself up on her elbows so she was looking down at him, cupped his face, and kissed him gently. He closed his eyes, as he enjoyed the moment, wishing it could last forever, saddening when she pulled away. "Of course I'll be your girlfriend, Hiccup." She said, with a smile on her face she was trying so desperately to suppress. "Good." He said with a smile, going in for one more kiss. The group celebrated silently at the top of the stairs, and Ruffnut held her hand out to Tuffnut. "I told you she'd be the top. Now hand it over." She demanded quietly. Tuffnut rolled his eyes, and pulled a ball of mold out of his braid, placing it in her hand. "YES!" She exclaimed quietly to herself. Everyone was happy, and Berk was safe. Ameraeli Isle was essentially nothing without (Y/N). They wouldn't come back for her, and if they did, they would be ready.
