3rd Person Pov:
Thanks to his mom's small pep talk, he felt the slightest bit more confident about talking to Reki about being soulmates. Whatever happens, they could still be friends right? Reki wasn't one to end a friendship over something like this.
After some mental debate, Langa decided to go over and check to see how Reki is doing. He was thinking of asking Reki if he can skate and somehow maneuver his questions into conversation. But, that is if only Reki is feeling okay. He doesn't want to push anything onto him.
But not only is Langa going to this, he also told his mother everything and she was more supportive that Langa ever thought she would be which warmed his heart.
He knew his mom wasn't against the homosexual soulmates, but he didn't know how she felt about having a son who has a male soulmate until now.
~Quick Flashback~
"Thank you for not getting mad at me mom." Langa smiles lightly.
"Why would I get mad at you? Because your soulmate is a boy?"
"W-well yeah. I feel bad for hiding it, but I didn't know if you would like it.."
"Ever since you asked if it's normal to have a soulmate who's the same gender, I knew. You make things painfully obvious Langa." she chuckles, "anyway, I could never be mad about that. But I understand why you didn't say anything."
~End of Flashback~
His father was one of his biggest supporters in his life, but his mom is as well. He can't even comprehend what would happen if she was gone. She was also the only person he could share the pain with, which in some cases eased him a bit.
Unlike his mom, Reki was the one who helped Langa begin to move on. Before he'd ever met the messy red haired boy, he felt stuck in one place and unable to move. But now, he's been able to take a step forwards for once. Maybe even multiple steps.
Langa races down the steep hill towards Reki's home and mentally prepares for what he's going to say once he gets there.
Wanna go skating? No.., Can you go skating, if you're not busy? No that's even worse. Do you wanna skate? Is that good enough? Or is it too short?
His heart thumps loudly in his chest and throughout his ears
Am I really about to do this?
After another minute or two, he finds himself standing on Reki's porch with his skateboard under one arm and his knuckles against the door.
He takes a deep inhale and exhale throughout his lungs before knocking a couple times. He takes a small step back and waits for someone to open the door for him.
This is crazy. What the hell am I doing?
He looks down at the ground and clenches his fists at his sides.
He has to be prepared for the worst, really. But at the same time, thinking about the worst outcome is what's been keeping him from expressing his feelings.
If only things could be different. If only Leiko never appeared in Reki's life, possibly things could've ended differently in the end? Maybe in that case, Reki would have been the first one to come out about his feelings to Langa instead of vise versa.
That would've been the most ideal situation for both parties.
But that'll sadly never happen..
