Hah... a longer chapter it is indeed. about 1000 more words than usual-

Tw: Homophobia 😍

3rd Person Pov:

"I'm pretty sure they got convinced that Leiko is my soulmate." Reki says, "I also don't know if they'd be happy with my soulmate being a boy... but I'm trying not to think about that... because it's my life and not theirs yknow?"

Langa adjusts his grip on Reki's hand so they can't fall apart while skating down the small slope in the road.

"That's true, but it would be nice if they were at least supportive,"  Langa explains, "I just want you to be safe Reki, that's all."

The red head squeezes the bluenettes hands softly with hope in his eyes.

"I'll be okay Langa, as long as you're here with me. Don't worry."

Truthfully, Reki knew his parents wouldn't be supportive at all, but there was a small chance that he was holding onto diligently. He didn't want to get his hopes up just to be disappointed in the end.

But no matter what his family thought, he wasn't not going to give up his happiness to make his family happy. Well, not without a fight.

They'd be dumb to think that Reki's would give something as important as Langa up.

Even if they've known each other for a short while, they both feel as if they've known each other all their life, (effects of being soulmates). But Reki's parents weren't soulmates, so of course they wouldn't understand.

And the chances of his parents taking the judgment of his grandmothers soulmates experience seriously is very low too.

Long story short, his parents don't like listening.

But would they be supportive eventually and change their minds?

Would they ever try to resonate with their son?

Will they ever understand how bad Leiko was to him?

Would Langa be willing to also get to know Reki's parents if they reconciled?

Reki's grandma never once talked about boys having boy soulmates before, so he doesn't exactly know if this occurrence is, "normal", (Kojiro and Kaoru are the only gay couple he's ever heard of in his life) but what he does know is being around Langa makes him happy and deep down he know he deserves this happiness after everything that happened.

His parents want him to be happy right?

Even if they aren't happy with Langa being his soulmate, they'll be happy that Reki is happy, right?

And if there was something wrong and this isn't, "normal", they can't offer him another soulmate. He'd be forced to be soulmateless which is a lot worse than not knowing who your soulmate is.

He'd also have to sacrifice seeing colors as well. One of the greatest things that could ever happen to you.

Reki wipes the sleeve of his hoodie over his eyes to block the wet tears from shedding down his face and is relieved to see that Langa didn't notice.

After a couple more minutes, the two skaters come to a stop in front of Langa's front porch. It was decorated with many potted plants and flowers that assumingely Nanako placed to make it feel more homey.
