Epilogue 1

3rd person Pov:

• 3 months later •

The new school year for Langa and Reki was starting which meant that they had one last year to figure out what they wanted to do with their lives in the future.

They should have probably figured it out a lot sooner, but they had so much going on, the thought of what they would do after school didn't even breach their minds.

The only thing they planned for after school was to find a place they could live together once they had enough money, since a part time job wasn't really enough to get an apartment.

To say Reki and Langa were scared for the future was definitely an understatement. Mostly because they had no idea how things would turn out (with Reki's situation) and how much longer they could live with each other.

Because technically they aren't even allowed to, thanks to the laws. Not until Reki's 18 —a legal adult— and they still had a couple months until his birthday.

[A/N: I completely forgot that in Japan they start school during the spring 💀. Oh well, bear with me and my non-logical timeline, thanks loves.]

So far they haven't been caught which was surprising. Before their last school year ended, they had to forge so many fake parent signatures which they could definitely get in so much trouble for, and they didn't even tell Nanako about that. Langa forged his as well so his mom wouldn't get suspicious.

Oh and speaking of Reki's parents, they've reached out a couple times (through Koyomi), letting him know that they miss him and they'll be waiting for him until he's comfortable to show his face again.

And Reki, he's been getting better. He's continued meeting with his counselor once a week and he's been giving Reki advice on how to cope with the many things he's experienced during a small window of time.

And you have no idea how happy that makes Langa..

Langa has been opening up more his feelings as well.. not to a counselor or anyone like that, but to his mom and Reki both, which Reki is proud of.

He didn't realize how much he didn't know about Langa until he started opening up, which left bittersweet feelings for the red head.

Getting to know Langa more: good
Not knowing Langa as much as he thought: not very good...

But things were getting better in general, so he tried his best to just focus on that.

On an unrelated note, Reki and Langa both had been working extra time at the skate shop recently in an attempt to get some more money, which would expand their options for the near future.

Yeah maybe it was only a few yen more than usual, however it was a start.

Reki originally thought that working more would become another stressor in his life, but luckily it's turned out to be the exact opposite. He actually really enjoys going into work. (Especially when he works at the same time as Langa)

I guess it kind of made things feel normal for him, and distracted him from his personal life and made him focus 100% on his favorite hobby. It was very therapeutic.

ANYWAYS, on a different note, Reki secretly began looking for different apartments for him and Langa, to just see what he needed to expect.
