Chapter 15
Emily
Over the next couple of days we had traveled across the entire continent of Australia, and even to Tasmania, getting all of the shifters to follow me in my quest to overthrow the big three while also learning the divine language. Now we were heading to Bali, where there was supposed to be one statue supposedly hidden in the Sacred Monkey forest. The only way we have this speculation is because of a map given to us by one of the emu villages. They somehow got a hold of it when a snow leopard came here like one hundred years ago. Who knew it would come in handy?
Anyway we were on our way to the island of Bali by boat, compliments of Phillip, because we did not want any of the aquatic spies of the big three to catch word of our location. We were quickly making our way to the island in the middle of the night, so no one would see us. All the birds were roosting in their homes, and the sea creatures, they were below us darting this way and that. From what Phillip was saying we should be at the island by early mourning.
We had finally docked, and the island was beautiful, I could see a large forest not far from where we were. and I couldn't wait to be in those forests. We travel throughout the day, making it through busy streets and eventually making it to the Sacred Monkey forest sanctuary. Phillip, Dan and Gema all went to get a reservation at a near by hotel. Leaving me to explore around the surrounding area. I try to stay away from the forest but every instinct is screaming at me to go into the forest, but not for protection. They are screaming at me to meet a old friend of some kind.
Eventually I just give into the feelings and head down the path to find a strange bridge. Two stone dragons stood on either side of the bridge, their bodies becoming the railings. I touch one of bodies, feeling the individually sculpted scales and the cool stone it was made of. Suddenly I hear a scream, and an unknown force pushes me into the small creek. As the water begins to get deeper I hear the scream again. I try to get up only to have a hand of some kind grab the waist of my pants and pull me back down into the quick water. Eventually I am swept away by the suddenly strong current.
Desperately I try to get to the surface but my entire world has been turned upside down. I have no idea what way is up and where the ground is. Opening my eyes I can barely see the sunlight coming in from the surface. Then all light is blocked by some kind of long snake like body, and then I see a large reptilian eye. Luminescent in the murky water, and I can't begin to imagine the size of this creature. I shift to the snow leopard to try and defend myself at least a little bit when the reptilian eye seems to widen at my shifted form. The body disappears and so does the current. I desperately claw at the water, slowly making my way up to the surface. Once my head breaches the water I see a small village, and a broken statue.
Making my way to the bank of the creek I suddenly feel calm. Every muscle seems to relax as I step onto the grass along the bank of the creek which had now returned to its normal calm self. My paw seem to almost prance through the grass as I make my way to the broken statue. I shift back and place a hand on the pile of rubble. I had just been swept away by a creek and brought here for a broken statue. Then the brush around the village begins to shake, I stand, ready to attack whatever comes out.
A dark green body slowly comes out of the brush, making a semi-circle around me. Then another, or the same one, completes the circle. The two halves begin to move around me, slowly picking up speed until they looked like one continuous loop. I let out a hiss, and in return I get a high pitched roar. Then a large reptilian head makes itself visible. Huge ivory incisors protruding from its upper and lower lips. I watch the creature as it stops and reveals another head, and I begin to cower back as I realize what is in front of me.
