; in which you return to your hometown and come across someone you haven't seen in a while

"mashiho?? yes! i'll be in town in 10 minutes! i cant wait to see you!!" i say on the phone, talking to my long-time friend.

"meet me at the fountain near the park, if you remember where it is. it's near our old high school."

"of course i remember, you idiot." i laughed on the phone. "alright, see you soon."

i finally hung up on the phone and was highly excited to see mashiho. he's my long-time friend and i haven't seen him in years.

we've kept in touch through social media, and that was the most we could do. being overseas, the timezone difference was hard to work with but we always managed to make it work out.

"i'm finally home." i said to myself, looking outside the window to see the lovely clear sky. the weather was nice, the birds were chirping, kids were playing outside.

it really did feel nice to hear all of this again.

though being here brings back a lot of memories, happy and sad, it was still good to be back.

time passed by quickly and i was finally at the destination mashiho was going to meet me at.

i told my driver that i would take an hour the most and they said they'd come back for me by then. so i left my vehicle and walked around to find mashiho, and there he was.

i immediately had a smile on my fave and hugged him tightly as he did the same. we haven't seen each other in person in so long, so it felt a little bit weird but we knew we'd get used to it.

"how's everything? how's your family? how's the rest of the gang?" i asked.

"the rest of the gang is all pretty busy, but i'm sure they'd love to see you if they can."

the rest of the gang included all of my other long-time friends... including a certain someone.

"how's... you know.. how is he? is he still around?" i asked without trying to make it sound weird.

"that, i'm not sure..." mashiho says. "he's quite busy himself as well.. he was planning on leaving the country."

when i heard mashiho tell me that, him leaving the country didn't sound right to me because i remember him saying he is not one to travel.
