"doyoung! over here!" jaeha called out from the cafeteria table she's at, sitting with jihoon, yedam and saerin, jaeha's best friend.
"why did you take so long at dance? how was practice?" jihoon asked as doyoung sat beside jaeha, with yedam being beside her and jihoon and saerin being in front of them.
"it's because you weren't there, i can't handle it on my own!" doyoung stretched his arms out, but jaeha noticed, he had a bruise on his elbow again, just like before.
"hey, what's wrong with you?" jaeha hit doyoung's shoulder. "you hurt yourself again?!" she said, massaging the bruise.
doyoung's heart was beating, like crazy. he knows she's always like that but every time she's that close, he freezes.
"hey, that hurts, you know?" doyoung whined, brushing off her hand. "stop worrying about it so much."
"stop getting hurt then. you know jaeha hates it when any of you guys get hurt, even if it's something small." yedam pointed out.
"see!! thanks bab— yedam, for understanding." jaeha said, almost calling him something else that doyoung seemed to notice. he wanted to ask jaeha what she was about to call him, but he didn't want to make it a big deal, so he didn't.
"and you have to stop being so protective about it." saerin chuckled with her breath. "so, today's squad talk!" saerin said, sounding formal.
"doesn't yedam have something to say?" jihoon asked all of them. "i know doyoung has something to say!" jihoon winked at him.
"wha— no no no." doyoung denied. "nothing for me to say—"
"doyoung has something to confess? damn i hope it's something interesting." jaeha said, winking at doyoung. he found it cute, but she doesn't know that.
his heart was beating so fast once again. jihoon knew and saw that, and so did saerin. the only ones that didn't know the truth was yedam and jaeha.
without anyone noticing, jihoon mouthed to doyoung, "you have to tell her now, dude."
and doyoung nervously said, "i can't. it's gonna ruin everything." jihoon, in reply, just sighed.
