"A-Aesop !?"

"Shh."

Eli fell silent immediately. Aesop had his head resting on his shoulder, his eyes closed. This situation was far too intense for his poor heart, which was beating madly. He tried to remain as calm as possible, but he couldn't help but feel an ounce of joy when he saw that the male was able to relax with his presence. His features had softened after Joseph had left.

"Wouldn't it be better to go to your bed..?"

"No..." murmured Aesop.

The young man didn't dare say anything else. He just stood there. The face of the one towards whom his feelings were so overflowing was so close to his own. They stayed like that for a while until Eli felt Aesop's breathing become slower, he had just fallen asleep. Eli gently shifted before carrying the man in his arms, he opened a door randomly, hoping that it was the one leading to his room. Fortunately, he was lucky and found it at the first attempt.

He set Aesop down gently before pulling the covers up over his sleeping body. He sat on the edge of the bed for a moment, watching the face of the resting beauty. He was probably on the verge of exhaustion if he had managed to fall asleep like that. The young man seemed to live alone and knowing him, he was probably the kind to overwork himself without knowing it and neglect his health, which had led him to be in such a state. Eli left the room to let Aesop rest quietly. He would feel bad to leave without saying anything and then he feared that his friend's health would deteriorate even more if he left him alone.

He went to the kitchen and opened the fridge, it was full but everything seemed untouched as if it was just filled to look pretty. He took out some ingredients and put them on the work surface. He wasn't really good at cooking but he could still make some simple dishes. He wanted to do something to help Aesop recover so he wondered what could be nutritious without being too complicated for a sick person to eat. After deciding what to do, he started cooking.

A few hours passed and Aesop woke up. His head felt lighter than it did a short while ago and he noticed that he was on his bed. Strange. He was sure he got up to open the door. The man got out of bed and went into the living room, there he saw Eli sitting on the sofa looking at his phone. He suddenly remembered what happened earlier, the visit of his friend and him. Eli looked up at him at that moment, he sketched a bright smile when he saw him.

"Aesop ! How are you feeling ?" he said with a cheerful voice.

"A little better..."

"I made some vegetable soup if you're hungry, it's already dinner time after all !"

Aesop looked at the wall clock, it was indeed already so late. So Eli had been staying all this time to watch over him ? He felt a strange warmth gain his chest, it wasn't unpleasant or anything, it was actually the opposite. It had been a long time since he had received so much attention like this, at least, not since Joseph. His attention then returned to Eli who had gotten up and was starting to put his coat back on. Was he leaving already ? It wasn't like he was being forced to stay here, but Aesop felt a little sad at the thought of him leaving.

"Hm... Why don't you stay for tonight ? It's late and..."

Aesop couldn't believe it. What was he talking about ? He was talking to him as if he was a helpless young lady, which was not the case. Anyone could see that Eli's stature was much more robust than his own. The male seemed a little shocked at first but he nodded with a smile and took off his coat once more. He then went into the kitchen to heat up the food he had prepared. The two shared a meal, silently enjoying each other's company...
