Ugggh I'm writing so much Elisop content bc I love them too much but sometimes I'm just wondering which one is Aesop and the other Eli and ask myself if I didn't switch their names by mistake- Hopefully, I just did once for Bloody Fangs-

_______________

Aesop jumped abruptly when he saw Eli's face so close to his own. He didn't see him arriving, let alone approaching him. How long since he had been watching him ? He was so surprised that he just dropped his notebook on the floor along with a jar of pencils and other things from the table behind him. He quickly bent down and picked everything up, with Eli doing the same to help him. After a few seconds, everything was back in its place, all but one thing, Aesop's notebook was in Eli's hands.

"I-it's..."

"Wow ! That's me, isn't it ? It's really well done ! I would expect nothing less from you ! Is it you who painted all these roses here too ?" exclaimed Eli.

"Indeed... And you can keep it if you want..."

" Really ? Thank you !"

Aesop took the notebook from his hands and gently pulled out the page that could be easily removed before handing it to Eli, who seemed euphoric at the idea of keeping this simple sketch. Aesop then walked away to look for something in his bag. Eli watched him curiously. He took out a blue package with a white ribbon on it and handed it to Eli. The latter looked at him without really understanding.

"It's your birthday, isn't it...?" murmured Aesop.

"You remembered ?! Norton told me that it wasn't really your thing though..."

"Don't listen to everything Norton says, you might lose some brain cells because of him..."

Eli couldn't help but laugh at Aesop's remark, despite what the two of them might say, Norton and Aesop were definitely good friends. Finally, Eli opened Aesop's gift, he really didn't expect to receive one from him honestly and wondered what it could be. Inside was a light blue scarf with a yellow rose embroidered on the edge, it was like the trademark of Aesop. Did he sew it himself ? In any case he loved it.

"Thank you so much Aesop !"

"You're welcome..."

Eli removed the scarf he was already wearing to put on the one Aesop had just given him. He then walked over to the young man and put his other scarf around his neck. Aesop looked at him with surprise as he did this. Eli did not step back after putting on the scarf, he just stood there, in front of him, holding the end of the fabric in his hands.

"You should cover yourself more in this weather ! I don't need it now so you can keep it !"

Aesop sighed but gave a slight smile. Eli's face flushed at the innocent smile and his gaze went to the male's lips. They were perfectly shaped and tinted a soft red. The next moment, Eli placed his lips against his. How long had this moment lasted ? A second ? A minute ? Aesop did nothing, probably shocked. Eli suddenly stepped back, realizing what he had done. He just kissed Aesop. The latter was looking at him, still a little surprised, his glasses falling slightly on his nose.

"S-Sorry !"

The blue-eyed boy ran out of the room after shouting his apology. He couldn't face Aesop after that. He didn't know what else to do but run as far away as possible for now. Aesop didn't hold him back, he just stood there in the middle of the room, speechless. When he realized Eli was gone, he dropped to the floor, trying to take in the events. He touched the tip of his lips that had been touching his not so long ago.

His heart was beating strangely fast and he wondered why ? Did he... Did he feel something for Eli ? He honestly didn't know. He had always seen this man as his friend and nothing else, thinking that he couldn't love anyone else after being cheated on by Joseph. Yet he had just given him a gift and remembered his birthday when Norton reminded him a week ago. That was unusual.

There weren't really a thousand answers and the most logical one would be... that he had fallen in love with Eli without even knowing it.
