TW: blood and abuse

"I need help- any hunters!" Logan shouted as he burst into the pub.

"What is it? Wolves?" a man asked.

"Worse, a monster! It took my son!"

"It took Virgil?" Lukas asked. Of course he was here, though Logan was too scared for his son's safety to even glare at Lukas.

"Yes, it was huge! And it had claws!"

"Oh, was it covered in fur?" a man asked in a mocking tone.

"Yes! It lives in a castle in the forest."

A man laughed, "There's no castle in the forest, I would have come across it if there was."

"It's true! It's holding my son prisoner!"

"Logan's gone crazy!" another man laughed. "Speaking about a beast that lives in a castle in the forest."

"Do none of you believe me? You should know I'm a man of science, I do not lie!"

"Get out of here if you're going to continue to talk about boring ghost stories!"

Logan frowned. "Fine, then I'll save my son myself."

He left the pub as men continued to laugh at him. He didn't need proof, he didn't even need any help. A good plan will save his son, and that's all he cared about.

Once he got home he started to search through all of his books for any help. He just needed a good plan, something that will bring the beast down fast.

He pulled out any chemistry books he had, a plan already forming in his mind. A normal arrow wouldn't bring the beast down, but a poisoned one might. No, not poison, that would take too long, a tranquilizer maybe? What might he need to make that?

He remembered a plant outside in the garden that he makes tea out of to help Virgil or himself sleep when they couldn't. Looking through the chemistry books, he found a recipe to heighten the effects.

He quickly ran out to the garden and started picking the small white flowers from the bush. He stood up to head back inside when he saw Lukas walking towards him.

"Is it true?" Lukas asked. "Virgil is in danger?"

"Does it matter to you? No one else will help me save him," Logan growled, walking back towards his door.

"I believe you, and I will do what I can to help." Lukas smiled, trying his best to persuade Logan.

Logan froze before he grabbed the doorknob. He seriously considered it, he would do anything to get his son back.

"Why would you want to? The beast is large and horrible," Logan reminded him.

"I'm aware, my mother had told me a story of a beast that lives in a hidden castle in the woods," Lukas admitted. "However, I promise to help you. That is, if you give me his hand in marriage in return."

Logan almost snapped, he turned and glared at Lukas with such fury it startled Lukas. "I will never let you lay another finger on my son, I refuse to rescue him from one monster if it means giving him away to a worse one."

Lukas growled for a moment, but calmed himself down. He took a deep breath and tried again, this time putting much force into his words. "I swear I would never hurt him ever again. He will be safe with me, I would never make him cry again."

"You didn't just make him cry! You did far worse than that! Leave now before you make me do something I'll regret, I need to save my son." Logan turned and slammed the door shut before locking it.
