TW: blood, drowning, hypothermia, it's the wolf scene but with a twist!
Virgil walked around the castle, if he was going to stay here he might as well get used to the large building. Plus he was bored and wanted to find something to do.
Hell he'll even talk to Roman if he runs into the beast again. He might as well get to know him while he's here even if his father does come to save him eventually.
He didn't know if the others had been busy or not, it was kinda hard to keep track of them since they're invisible. He had an... interesting talk with Remus before Janus pulled him away.
He didn't learn much though, just that everyone here all agrees that Roman acts like a normal person even though he really isn't... a person, and that he's nice most of the time.
He looked outside to see it was dark and had snowed earlier, though he should have guessed because of the cold.
Virgil had decided to look around upstairs first, just a bunch of rooms and closets. He wasn't surprised that he hadn't found anything interesting yet, everything was probably downstairs.
At least nothing was really interesting until he reached a room on the west side of the castle. He opened the large mahogany doors and discovered a room that was torn to shreds.
The canopy on the bed was shredded, the wooden furniture was splintered. Virgil walked in further and found a family portrait, a mother with brown hair, a father with dark hair, a son with dark hair and a bright, almost insane smile, and another boy whose face was shredded.
Virgil tugged at the edges of the canvas to see if he could make out the face, but it was almost impossible. He could only make out brown hair and what could be a few freckles.
He turned around to look at the rest of the room, trying to figure out what had happened when he saw a soft red glow coming from somewhere.
He walked towards it and saw a flower suspended in the air under a glass case, a mirror was next to it on the same table. He looked around it to figure out what was making it glow or even float but he didn't see any strings.
He reached out to lift the glass but froze when he heard a growl.
"What are you doing here?!" Roman shouted, scaring Virgil.
He jumped back and turned to face Roman.
"I-I just-" Virgil tried to talk.
"No one should be in here! Do you know what you could have done?!"
"I didn't mea-"
"Get out! Leave!" Roman roared, swiping at a piece of furniture.
Virgil yelped when the wood splintered and he ran around the room to get to the door as Roman roared in anger.
He ran down the stairs, not caring if he tripped. He couldn't handle this, not anymore, not again. The yelling was ringing in his ears as he pushed the castle door open, running into the bitter cold.
He didn't care that he wasn't dressed for the winter cold, all he had to help keep him warm was his cloak. He couldn't care less though, he would run barefoot in the snow if it meant he wouldn't get hit again.
He ran past the castle gates and didn't even follow the path. He just had to get away, all he had to do was get away before he's caught. He couldn't get caught, not again, he didn't want to get hurt again.
If Lukas caught him- wait no. Not Lukas. He was running from the beast, from Roman. Did it matter? He made him angry and he was yelling, he lashed out.
