Thin papers flew out of your hand and up into the wind as you rushed back into the printing office. Oh, joy, boss is going to get real mad if I lose anymore. You thought to yourself, clutching the papers closer to your chest.
You were a part of a local newspaper company as their "errand boy". It was annoying, but at least the job got food on your table. The company was currently going under though, and you were already thinking of possible job opportunities. Ahhhh, a job in the castle would be so nice...
You shook your head, no, this isn't time to be dreaming of the impossible.
Stumbling into the office, you dumped the stack of papers on the nearest desk.
"Hey! You were late, again." The boss shouted from across the office. "Maybe if you didn't give me so many things to do.." You grumbled to yourself, brushing the hair in front of your face out of the way. "So? What next?" You asked, leaning against the wall with your arms crossed.
The boss smirked, standing up from his desk. Oh god. A sense of dread overcame you. Great, another job I simply don't get paid enough for.
"This time, we're sure to be the next big hit!!" He chuckled to himself. "You," He pointed towards you, grinning. "-are going to spy on the prince and his pretty little red girl!"
You widened your eyes in surprise, uncrossing your arms and taking a step forward in response. "What the hell!? T-That's suicidal!! Do you have any idea how scary his attendants look, even from afar!?" You protested. Zen Wisteria, along with his infamously loyal attendants, Mitsuhide, Kiki, and Obi. No one could get close to Zen himself, let alone the girl that he supposedly thinks as his fiance.
"That's exactly why you're perfect for this job!" The boss smiled maliciously. "You're quick on your feet, and you're used to hiding in the streets anyways." He waved his hand absently.
"I'm not doing this! You're absolutely insane!! I'm not gonna risk my life just fo-" The boss shushed you. "Shhhh, let me finish."
You begrudgingly shut your mouth, waiting for the old man to speak. "If you get enough juicy info for a good front page story, I'll pay you 5 times your normal pay." He smirked, "High risk, high reward Y/N... What do you say?"
5 times my normal pay...!? That's enough to last me a month or two! You didn't want to think about it, but the possibility of not having to worry about skipping dinner for the next two months was appealing to you more than you wanted. Your mind jumped to possible strategies of how to get in, how to stay hidden, and how to avoid the guards without you realizing it.
Looking down at the floor, you said quietly, "I'll do it."

You took a deep breath to calm your pounding heart. You were no where near the castle, and yet your heart was racing faster than the prince's horse. It had been a week after you accepted the job, and now you were on your way to infiltrate the castle. Ugh, why the hell did I agree to this again?
The boss had given you a fake ID, which from afar would work perfectly fine, but it couldn't even fool a monkey if you were to look at it up close. You scoffed as you read the text on it once again.
Y/N,
Prince Zen's
Personal Messenger"Alright, you got this." You whispered to yourself, running in between the trees and towards the castle, praying to yourself that you wouldn't get caught mid-day.
You approached the castle's garden gate, walking slowly up to the edge of the treeline. This gate was the shortest one of them all, as well as the least patrolled, as it was a spot that many higher ups frequented. I guess they didn't want to bother the royals too much.
