Chapter 2 ~ Welcome Home

They were greeted at the airport by both of their mothers which resulted in a very loud and cold car ride from the airport to their new home which they had bought a week ago and their families had set up for them with all the stuff they had shipped over. “Qiaolian how come you never called me anymore so disrespectful” “Oh my poor Phillip you look too skinny so does your Melinda remind me to feed you extra tonight at dinner” “Qiaolian your father said you did not call him back and that its been three weeks I thought we raised you to be more respectful why must you act this way” and on and on the two mothers went back and forth. Melinda just shot Phil a ‘is this actually happening right now’ stare and he just gave her an apologetic nod and kissed her forehead. 

After the longest half hour of their lives the car pulled into the driveway of their house Julie and Lian turned their heads to look at their adult kids in the backseat “Welcome home you three” Lian said with a smirk and an exchanged glance with Julie both quickly getting out of the car. Phil and Melinda exchanged a horrified glance and followed out the car. The two quickly caught up to their parents at the front door. “How did you two know we haven’t said a word to anybody” Phil said nervously Mel stayed quiet holding his hand “because we’re your mothers Phillip we know everything” Lian may said as she unlocked the door to the house. “Now come inside and welcome home you two” Julie Coulson said sweetly as they all stepped inside the modest but comfy and family friendly home Melinda and Phil looked around in awe at the cream colored walls and white and beige furniture the nice wood floors, a full kitchen, their picture frames scattered along the walls. “You guys, this is wonderful. Everything looks so nice, almost too nice to have a kid running around” Melinda said with a small smile forming on her lips she was actually getting a little teary eyed at the grand gesture but she would never admit that. 

The two older women began to cook dinner at 3 in the afternoon while Melinda and Phil decided to go into town and track down all their childhood friends. They were walking down the quiet streets hand in hand “Phil this is gonna take too long to track them all down why don’t we just find one and then that friend can tell us where everyone else is” “We can do that how about we find Mack I think he still works at the garage” Melinda perked up “oh and we can pick up Lola and Leia we’ve been away from them for so long” she exclaimed loudly after that they ran to the garage never stopping.

Mack was wiping the sweat off his face when he noticed his two friends arrive at the garage neither out of breath since they were both in great shape. “Hey well well well if it isn’t the Coulsons welcome home” “Thanks Mack” they hugged and then Mack leaned against a car “I am guessing you guys didn’t just come here to say hi you guys want lola and leia”? They looked at each other with guilty smiles and nodded. Mack lead them back to a separate hidden garage opening it up revealing a pristine corvette and jeep “LOLA” “LEIA” the two ran to their respective cars hugging them so weird. 

After the trip to the garage they reunited with their friend Elena who they found out was engaged to mack and now coaching the varsity cross country team at the high school she also introduced them to two students who usually sit on the bleachers and do homework their names were Leo and Jemma and turns out they were the kids of Melinda and Phil’s new neighbors. They met up with Lance and Bobbi next laughing at how complicated their relationship still was Lance was a boxing instructor and bobbi was a waitress at a dinner right next to a nice empty building. Phil got an idea when he saw it and while Melinda was inside the diner still talking to Bobbi Phil put his little surprise in motion and lastly they went to visit sheriff Fury and his deputy Maria who they grew up with and the sheriff was like a father to them and taught them both self defense.

8:00 pm 

The steaming hot water hit her back in a big wave of relief after the long day she had Melinda was exhausted and had just emptied the contents of her stomach man this pregnancy is gonna be harder than I expected...she thought to herself what if we can’t do this I mean our parents had to buy us this house for christ sake and we don’t have jobs anymore oh god what have we done… her thoughts were interrupted by strong arms wrapping around her waist and soft kisses being peppered up her neck. “Well hello there Director…” she teased this was one of her nicknames for him after culinary school he just smirked and put his chin on her head “is everything okay Lin you have been in here for almost thirty minutes” she just nodded looking at the wall. He sighed wanting to press further but knew better than to so instead they had an intense make out session leaving both their lips a bit sore and then got out and got dressed for bed Phil in semi tight sleep shorts and shirtless Melinda in black lace undergarments under one of her hubby’s old college shirts paired with black leggings. 

After they got comfy which consisted of Phil on his side and Melinda’s back pressed against his chest his arms wrapped around her and their legs tangled together he reached over and turned off the lamp. “Phil can I ask you something”? “Of course you can, is everything okay is this about your mom because… she quickly pecked his lips cutting him off “no no this isn’t about her it's about this baby do you….. Do you think we are ready for this” she began to ramble about the future so he placed one hand on her waist and the other on her cheek and pulled her into a passionate but gentle kiss that made her shut up immediately and calm down. Only he could only he was able to make her melt into his touch and forget about the world and all the weight she carried on her shoulders because he loved her Phil Coulson loved Melinda May and she would never let him go because their love is eternal.

I hope you guys are enjoying this story so far I promise it will get more interesting but I like a good story and I really like a happy ending.
